  • NUMÉRO UNE by Tonie Marshall, co-producer: EAVE graduate Jacques-Henri Bronckart is shooting. The screenplay follows the life of Emmanuelle Blanchey, a brilliant and determined engineer, who, thanks to the quality of her work, has found her way onto the executive board of French energy giant, Trident. One day, a network of influential women offers to assist her in toppling the head of a CAC40 company. But, for a shot at the top, she must put everything on the line! In a world still dominated by men, Emmanuelle must confront even more roadblocks on her path to the top, both in her professional and personal life.Produced by Tonie Marshall and Véronique Zerdoun for Tabo Tabo Films, Numéro Une has a budget of €6.3 million, including co-production agreements with France 3 Cinéma, Orange Studio and Belgian outfit Versus Production. The film, the rights to which have been bought in advance by Canal+ and Ciné+, is also supported by the Cofimage Sofica. • 9 FINGERS by F.J. Ossang, producer: EAVE graduate Sébastien Haguenauer is in production. Written by FJ Ossang in the spirit of film noir, the story starts at night in a town surprised by a flurry of snow and ice, in a station where all the trains are at a standstill. Magloire steps outside for a cigarette. Everything happens during a police check. He takes flight as he is, without bags or a future, and comes across a dying man. He finds a wad of cash whilst the former succumbs to death, but then the problems start: there’s a gang hot on his heels, which takes him hostage before working with him, as Magloire deals with things like someone who expects nothing from life. Produced by Sébastien Haguenauer for 10:15 Productions and by OSS/100 Films & Documents, co-produced by CDP (Catherine Dussart Production) and the Portuguese company O Som e a Fúria. The film won the Eurimages Co-production Development Award at the New Cinema Network in Rome in 2014 and is supported by an advance on receipts from the CNC, and the l'Instituto do Cinema et do Audiovisual (ICA), a fund providing support to Franco-Portuguese co-productions, Sofica Cinémage and the Aquitaine Limousin Poitou-Charentes region.

It offers the participants the opportunity to discuss the content and form of their project and to find out whether the project stands a chance on the market and what market that would be. It encourages international co-productions and helps to finance outstanding documentary projects addressing an international audience.

Selection criteria

We are looking for 15 individual, fresh and unique high-quality documentary projects, that combine artistic ambition with passion for the subject and commitment to the protagonists. We are interested in presenting projects within the great diversity of the cinéma du réel. We are interested in projects by experienced as well as by new directors, who should have at least directed short films. The producer may have successfully worked in her/his national market and now want to work with European and international partners. Experience in international co-production is appreciated but not a pre-condition.

  •  The project must already be well developped and have (basic) funding in place (viability).
  •  The project and subject must be adapted for international co-production and financing, have potential in international markets and address an international audience.
  •  The project should be new and not have already gone around all the potential financial partners and other festivals or markets.
