As the trial looms, Bruno’s life revolves entirely around these few days, during which he knows that his daughter’s fate will be decided in the middle of a crown court. • OUTSIDE by Michal Hogenauer, co-producers: EAVE graduates Stienette Bosklopper and Latvian National Coordinator Aija Berzina is in production. The film follows Mia, a young Czech au pair who starts to work for a wealthy family. She takes care of their ten-year-old son Sebastian and has to abide by a set of strange rules. As a result of manipulation by a radical family community, she begins to gradually and systematically disappear, and abandon her humanity and her relationships with the child entrusted to her. OUTSIDE has been developed with the support of Creative Europe – MEDIA Development and was presented at the Berlinale Co-Production meetings in 2016. The project received a grant during the latest batch of support decisions by Eurimages. The film is an international co-production between the Czech Republic (Negativ), the Netherlands (Circe Films) and Latvia (Tasse Film). The project received support from the Czech Film Fund, the Netherlands Film Fund, the National Film Centre of Latvia, the Riga Film Fund and HBO Europe. Principal photography wrapped at the beginning of November. The international crew helmed by Hogenauer shot on location in Riga, with Gregg Tellusa behind the camera.

  • I AM FRANK by Metod Pevec, producer: EAVE group leader Danijel Hocevar is in production. Pevec’s seventh feature film tells a story of two brothers, who are as dissimilar as if each of them came from their own corner of the divided Slovenian society. Frank is a barstool apostle, subscribing to atavistic remainders of communist ideas and socialist values. Brane, on the other hand, is focused on personal success and adapted very successfully to the liberal capitalist circumstances. Once upon a time they played in the same band and loved the same woman. Had it not been for their father and an unusual heritage, they might have remained brothers. I AM FRANK is produced by Danijel Ho?evar through Vertigo in co-production with RTV Slovenija, Serbia’s Backroom Production and Macedonia’s Trice Films and Small Moves Films. The film is supported by the Slovenian Film Center, Film Centre Serbia and with the participation of Film Studio Viba film. Shooting will also take place in Slovenian towns of Jesenice, Zagorje and Cerknica, as well as in Trieste in Italy, and is expected to wrap in January 2018 after 33 shooting days.

ACM Distribution calls for proposals

The deadline to apply is February 28th, 2018.

This scheme is designed to support distribution for international co-productions, and was initially open to films that were supported by the Aide aux cinemas du monde at production stage. Starting from this call for projects, that last condition disappears.

ACM Distribution will now be open to all co-productions between a MEDIA and a non-MEDIA country respecting the % rules: The MEDIA co-producer's financial contribution must be included between 25% and 70% for fiction and animation feature films, and between 20% and 70% for documentaries.

Please find the guidelines attached.

4 selection committees have already taken place since the fund was launched – which enabled 24 films to be distributed in over 100 extra countries (total number of releases).

Candidates can be international sales agents, producers, distributors… any French or European company (established in a MEDIA country), rights-holder of an eligible film, is welcome to apply. Please note that a distribution strategy must be presented on at least 3 territories (any country except France) to receive support.

Please check our website for further information:
