EAVE IMPACT THINK TANK
At WEMW, EAVE launched the 8th edition of the EAVE Impact Think Tank (January 17 - 18, 2026), which turns the lens inward, looking at the internal well-being and mental health of producers, especially those working at the intersection of systemic inequity, identity-based exclusion, displacement, and under-resourced environments. Our aim is to co-design new approaches to support, sustainability, and collective care.
The EAVE Impact Think Tank is organised in partnership with our long-term partner WEMW, and our generous partners Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Telefilm Canada, as well as the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes. The EAVE Impact Think Tank is supported by DW Akademie funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the British Council Travel Grant Fund delivered in partnership with the BFI (using National Lottery Funds).
EAVE SESSION (January 19)
"Holding the Center: Producer Care and Resilience" – January 19, 17:00

Andrina Mračnikar has begun shooting her second feature film Mila/Marija, a Slovenian–Austrian–Greek coproduction with a budget of 4.6 million EUR. Set in Carinthia in 1943, the drama follows nineteen-year-old Mila, who joins the partisan resistance against Nazi occupation, rises to lead her own unit, and later must again choose between submission and resistance after the war. The film stars Doroteja Nadrah, Oskar Haag, Marko Mandić, Edita Malovčić, and Petja Labović, and is produced by Vertigo, Amour Fou, and co-produced by Indigo View and Ruth Beckerman Filmproduktion, in collaboration with ORF Film/Television Agreement and RTV Slovenija. The project is supported by the Austrian Film Institute, Slovenian Film Centre, Filmfonds Wien, Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center, the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, Carinthia Film Commission and Future Fund of the Republic of Austria. Shooting runs from October to mid-November 2025 in Carinthia and Slovenia, with the film slated for release in Slovenian and Austrian cinemas in 2026.
- EAVE project SERAFIMA wraps filming, producers: EAVE graduates Andreas Kask, Esko Rips
Estonian actor Priit Võigemast and Georgian actress Tinatin Dalakishvili star in Veiko Õunpuu’s new film SERAFIMA, a drama about moral choice and survival under authoritarianism in Soviet Estonia. Based on Vahur Afanasjev’s novel Serafima and Bogdan, the Estonian–Latvian–Polish coproduction is set in the 1960s and explores how individuals and communities are shaped by repression and violence. Produced by Nafta Films in co-production with Gunda Bergmane of Nafta Films Latvia, Alicja Gancarz of Orka Films (Poland), and Tanel Tatter and Veiko Esken of Apollo Film Productions (Estonia), on a 2.2 million EUR budget, shot in Latvia by cinematographer Mart Taniel, the film is slated to premiere in 2027 with distribution by Hea Film. The Estonian Film Institute, the Estonian Cultural Endowment, Creative Europe MEDIA, the Estonian Public Broadcasting, Apollo Film Productions, the Polish Film Institute, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, the Riga Film Fund, and Postimees are backing the project.

- EAVE project FIRES is in post-production, producer: EAVE graduate Bojana Radulovic, co-producer: EAVE graduate Nevena Savić
Slovenian director Nina Tratnik has completed shooting her debut feature FIRES (Požari) on 14 November 2025, a Montenegrin–Albanian–Serbian coproduction led by an all-women producing team headed by EAVE graduate Bojana Radulović of Code Blue Production. Torn between her own forbidden desires and the unsettling attraction she feels toward her handball coach—a man who skillfully charms her entire family—18-year-old Ana finds herself suffocating during one scorching summer. As her father’s need for control intensifies, her mother retreats into silence, and her grandmother approaches her final days, Ana is pushed to her breaking point. In the heat of it all, she must choose what in her life will burn—and what she will allow to survive. Written by Jovana Bojović and starring Janja Ćetković, Aleksandar Gavranić, Maja Stojanović, and Olivera Vuković, the project has a budget of 455,000 EUR, with most of it already secured. The Film Centre of Montenegro, the Albanian National Cinematography Center, the Secretariat for Culture and Sports of the Capital City of Podgorica, and the Tourist Organisation of Podgorica are backing the project. Shot over 19 days and set for completion by July 2026, Fires has been developed and showcased at major European industry platforms, with its premiere and distribution still to be confirmed.

EAVE @ WHEN EAST MEETS WEST 2026
EAVE is happy to announce a vast presence of EAVE graduates at the next edition of When East Meets West in Trieste, Italy (January 18-20, 2026)!
Discover here the activities by EAVE, including the EAVE IMPACT THINK TANK, introducing a new topic about mental health, and check out the projects and companies by EAVE graduates presented at the popular co-production platform!
We are launching the 8th edition of the EAVE Impact Think Tank, which turns the lens inward, looking at the internal well-being and mental health of producers, especially those working at the intersection of systemic inequity, identity-based exclusion, displacement, and under-resourced environments.
