Kicking off today: Inclusive Production Practices in partnership with the Slovenian Film Centre!
The Slovenian Film Centre and EAVE are organising a full-day workshop on Inclusive Production Practice on 15 October, from 10:00 to 18:00, at the Grand Hotel Portorož in Portorož, Slovenia.
The workshop is primarily aimed at film and audiovisual producers and other film professionals interested in learning how to incorporate principles of equality, inclusion and other ethical practices into production processes.
The workshop is led by two well-known EAVE experts, the newly appointed Co-Heads of Studies of the EAVE Producers Workshops: Ethiopian-Canadian producer Tamara Dawit, and French producer Jennifer Sabbah-Immagine.
The programme is divided into three masterclasses: Power Positions and Dynamics in Production, Development Through an Inclusion Lens, and Inclusive Production Practices.

Equitable Coproduction Programme with EAVE Experts kicking off today in Durban!
EAVE has designed a new Equitable Coproduction programme for the 2026 edition of Durban FilmMart (DFM). Delivered through EAVE on Demand, it brings four leading EAVE experts to South Africa to help producers build coproductions that are fair, transparent and sustainable for all partners involved.
The programme runs from 9 to 12 October at the 17th DFM in Durban, under the theme “Shifting Worlds: Turning Towards Ourselves,” and combines four masterclasses and a clinic.
Masterclasses on Equitable Coproduction
Each masterclass is led by two experts, and pairs best-practice techniques with case studies from the expert's own production experience and covers a full lifecycle, from development to delivery:
- Inclusive Co-Productions, with Tamara Dawit and Linda Mutawi. Creative equity, financial fairness, shared IP ownership and revenue participation, negotiating fair terms and drafting inclusive contracts.
- Developing with an Inclusive Lens, with Amil Shivji and May Odeh. Care-based development frameworks, collaborative story design and consent-driven research.
- Inclusive Financing & Budgeting, with Tamara Dawit and Amil Shivji. Fair compensation, shared ownership, community benefit and navigating currency imbalances in international coproductions.
- Inclusive Production Practices, with Linda Mutawi and May Odeh. Inclusive hiring, cross-cultural crew coordination, ethical casting, safer set protocols, culturally sensitive scheduling, and workflows that prioritise access, consent and psychological safety.
Equitable Coproduction Clinic
Some challenges are specific to a single project and can’t be fully covered in a masterclass. Equitable Coproduction Clinic gives delegates the opportunity to discuss their own project in one-on-one sessions with the EAVE experts.

EAVE and Ecoprod present: Webinar Green Storytelling
In partnership with EAVE, StepUP invites you to take part in the webinar "Green Storytelling: practical tools for writers and producers"
When: 12/10/2026 at 4:00 - 5:30 pm CEST
Free Registration via the link
Stories shape how we see the world. This webinar "Green Storytelling: practical tools for writers and producers" explores how climate and environmental themes can find their way into your narratives without compromising creativity or audience engagement.
Together, we'll ask why climate deserves a place in our stories and look at the many ways to weave environmental themes into a plot, a setting, or a character's journey. Our international panelists will share concrete techniques to avoid the usual clichés and greenwashing tropes, examine what impact a film or series can realistically have on an audience, and discuss how to make sustainability on screen genuinely inclusive and accessible. You'll leave with practical tools to tell stories that matter and that resonate.
Panelists:
- Lucie Trémolières, writer, sustainable storytelling consultant, and trainer
- Piia Puntola, sustainability consultant, producer, screenwriter, and story editor
- Micah Magee, filmmaker and trainer
- Owoyemi Michael, filmmaker and cofounder of African Climate Stories
Moderation by Alissa Aubenque, Ecoprod
