BAD BLOOD by Milutin Petrovic, producer: EAVE graduate Snezana van Houwelingen is in pre-production. Planned is a feature film and TV series based on the 1910 novel of famous classic Serbian writer Bora Stankovic. Both projects are produced by Serbia’s This and That Productions, which is currently looking for international coproducers. The script is to a great extent based on a long lost script written by the renowned Serbian film director and editor Vojislav Nanovic (1922-1983). There were ocassional rumours and legends about the script. Director Milutin Petrovi? found it by chance in an apartment in Belgrade.
Nanovic’s script has been polished by Milena Markovic and this new version is to be used for the feature and the first three of ten planned episodes of the TV series under the same title. The story is set in the turbulent years of the Ottoman Empire and at the cusp of a new century, when peasants began rising up in strength to the detriment of wealthy merchants families. The story follows Trifun, the wealthy leader of the Christian minority under the Ottoman rule, who, while trying to preserve his wealth and power, sets off a chain of events that cause terrible consequences for his family.
The project is being developed and prepared by This and That Productions with development support of MEDIA Creative Europe and development and production support from Film Center Serbia. Radio Television Serbia – RTS is also on board. Shooting is scheduled to start in the summer of 2020.

THE RED ORCHESTRA by Carl-Ludwig Rettinger, producer: EAVE graduate Isabelle Truc is in production. "The Red Orchestra" was the most important resistance group inside the Third Reich, a vast spy network mainly located in Brussels and Paris during the Second World War. Those activists helped the Jews persecuted by the regime, hid deserters and gathered military information that was decisive for the victory of the allies. Director Carl-Ludwig Rettinger compares the images and the narrative of a film made in the German Federal Republic (GFR) and a series made in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in the early 1970s, each of the two films only telling half the truth in his film. He also by met the descendants of these courageous men, filmed the important places of this history and invited some specialists of that time, with the proposition to shed light on this network of mythical spies. Produced by Lichtblick Films (Germany), Iota Production (Belgium), Vice versa Films (Israel) and supported by FFA, Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg, NRW, DFFF, RBB/ARTE, RTBF, Casa Kafka.

EAVE projects released in 2019 are now available on Festival Scope Pro!

EAVE has not only become an internationally recognised brand among the existing training initiatives and networks in Europe, but is also playing a major role in fostering co-production and strengthening the European audiovisual sector.

Many projects developed through EAVE's flagship programme, the EAVE Producers Workshop, as well as through EAVE Marketing Workshop and our international programmes, TIES THAT BIND, PUENTES, Interchange and B'EST, have been successfully produced, critically acclaimed and distributed internationally. The co-operation with FESTIVAL SCOPE PRO promotes hand-picked, recently finalised films developed through EAVE. The goal is to give more visibility to the finished films developed at various EAVE programmes and enhance their circulation.

Check out here the films developed at EAVE and released in 2019 - among them Cannes success stories, festival hits, Oscar nominees! Most of them are available on FESTIVAL SCOPE PRO now!
