In post-production

  • HOLD ON TO ME by Myrsini Aristidou, producer: EAVE graduate Konstantina Stavrianou is in post-production. The coming-of-age drama explores the emotional turbulence of a girl’s longing to reunite with her absent father. Set in Cyprus, the story follows 11-year-old Iris, whose carefree days spent with her older friend Danae are interrupted by the unexpected return of her estranged father, Aris, for his own father’s funeral. Resolving to finally meet the man who’s long been absent from her life, Iris tracks him down to a forgotten shipyard. What begins as a stubborn quest for recognition evolves into a subtle, uneasy bond marked by conflict, tentative gestures and emotional fragility. HOLD ON TO ME is a Cypriot-Danish-Greek-US co-production by Monica Nicolaidou for Filmblades and Aristidou’s One Six One Films, in co-production with Anders N U Berg for Denmark’s Fredo Pictures, and Konstantina Stavrianou and Rena Vougioukalou for Athens-based Graal SA, while Mark Hollinger and Thomas J Mangan IV serve as executive producers for Pleasant Bay Pictures (USA) and Mango Productions (USA). • ULYA by Viesturs Kairis, producers: EAVE graduates Guntis Trekteris, Pille Rünk, Malgorzata Staron and Ieva Norviliene is in post-production. The biographical drama about the world-famous basketball player Ulyana Semyonova follows her path from an old-believers community on the South Eastern border of Latvia to international fame, portraying both her personal journey and her symbolic role as a Cold War-era sports icon. ULYA is a Latvian/Estonian/Polish/Lithuanian co-production, produced by Guntis Trekteris through Ego Media (Latvia), Pille Rünk through Allfilm (Estonia), Malgorzata Staron through Staron Film (Poland), and Ieva Norviliene through Tremora (Lithuania). The film was shot in Latgale (Eastern Latvia) and Riga in 30 days across three sessions: the winter of 2024, the autumn of 2024 and the spring of 2025. “With the 1960s and 70s rarely depicted on screen, capturing the essence of that Soviet-era period demanded extraordinary effort and creativity from both the production and costume design teams,” said Latvian producer Guntis Trekteris. The film’s financing is coming from the National Film Centre of Latvia, the Estonian Film Institute, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia (kulka.ee), the Polish Film Institute (pisf.pl), the Lithuanian Film Centre, and the Riga City Council. An international premiere is planned for early 2026.

WATCH NOW: Inclusive Co-Production in Action - EAVE Think Tank report and panel discussion in Cannes

We are thrilled to share the 2025 EAVE IMPACT Think Tank Report on Inclusive Co-Production Practices, a bold new framework to transform international co-production models through equity, transparency, and narrative sovereignty.

The report was launched at a special panel discussion during this year’s Marché du Film – Co-Production Day with

  • Emile Hertling Péronard (Ánorâk Film, Denmark & Greenland)
  • Jennifer Sabbah-Immagine (BIG SISTER & JSI Consultant, FR)
  • Myriam Sassine (La Niña Cinema, France & Lebanon)
  • Daniela Mujica (Productions Ocho, Canada)

The session was moderated by Tamara Dawit (Gobez Media, Canada, Ethiopia).

You can watch the panel discussion about the report here, which was recorded during the Marché du Film, impACT x Co-Production Day:

Developed through a global, multi-stakeholder think tank facilitated by EAVE in partnership with When East Meets West (WEMW) and supported by the Canada Media Fund (CMF), Telefilm Canada, and the International Emerging Film Talent Association (IEFTA), the report responds to an urgent need to address systemic barriers in the global co-production ecosystem.

As international collaboration becomes more critical to financing screen content, the need for inclusive co-production models that reflect a plurality of voices has never been greater.

The report outlines concrete areas of work for producers across all stages of content creation, offering practical tools and strategies to build more ethical and inclusive co-productions:
