The second film is DEDE by Mariam Khatchvani follows a young woman, Dina, who lives in the harsh mountain region of Svaneti. Her happiness is brief because her lover dies and she must obey tradition by marrying the first man who offers her his hand. The third, untitled project, now in the early stages of development, is set in London and will be directed by award-winning EAVE graduate Tinatin Kajrishvili.
- IVAN by Janez Burger, producer: EAVE graduate Miha Cernec, co-producers: EAVE graduate Milan Stojanovic and Ties That Bind participant: Florian Caspar Richter is in its final stage of pre-production. The project received support from the Slovenian Film Center and technical support provided by Studio Viba Film. The shoot is scheduled for September in Ljubljana, Zagreb and Bolzano.
- THE STAFFROOM by Sonja Tarokic, producer: EAVE graduate and Croatian National Coordinator Ankica Juric Tilic is in development. The story: Despite her lack of experience, Anamarija starts her first year as a school counsellor with much enthusiasm, having grown tired of her two-year-long maternity leave. However, confronted with the restrictions of the school system and surrounded by burnt-out and apathetic teachers, she wages her own war against the problem of the history teacher, unaware that in doing so she is gradually becoming like the rest of her colleagues in the staffroom. The Croatian Audiovisual Centre is supporting the film, Kinorama is contributing its own investment development and production funding. A seven week shooting schedule is set for autumn 2016.
PUENTES project BLACK FROST is shooting
- PUENTES project BLACK FROST by Maximiliano Schonfeld, producer: PUENTES graduate Barbara Francisco is currently shooting. The plot: The plantations in some areas of Entre Ríos have been devastated by the black frost, which is about to reach the Lell brother’s land. A young woman arrives at the farm, acting lost and they offer her temporary lodge. The frost stops. Hope emerges among the villagers that start to worship her like a saint: Alejandra might become a savior, although her plans are hiding something else. A film about faith, the power of belief and about the small vile deeds surrounding popular saints.

INNER GHOSTS now in post-production
- INNER GHOSTS by João Alves, written and produced by EAVE graduate Paulo Leite is in post-production. The horror film’s plot is about a woman who gave up on her life as a medium. She receives a gift from the afterlife: a device that can perform wonderful things – at a price.
- J. KESSELS by Erik de Bruyn, producer: EAVE graduate Sander Verdonk is in post-production. Both, a hilarious road movie and a bittersweet journey down memory lane, J. KESSELS is a crazy ride in an American old timer from the provincial town of Tilburg to the Hamburg Reeperbahn and back. Above all, it is a hallucinatory trip through the mind of an author, who no longer knows if his novel is the product of his imagination or if he's actually living it.

CROSSROADS introduces producers and directors to a variety of industry professionals from all over the world. The programme is varied and provides the opportunity to meet, formally and informally, distributors, broadcasters, sales agents and consultants. CROSSROADS’ goal is to support the producers of feature-length fiction film projects that contain a link to the Mediterranean and Balkan regions as well as Central Europe.
