We are delighted to announce that in a few days the TIES THAT BIND Asia - Europe Producers Workshop will kick-off in Udine!
The ten selected producers, 5 from Asia – the Philippines, Singapore, China, Japan and Malaysia – and 5 from Europe – France, Belgium, Poland and the Netherlands – will meet for the first workshop in Udine (Italy) during the Udine Far East Film Festival from April 29 to May 3, 2014.
The 10 selected producers will work on the development of their projects under the guidance of top industry professionals from both continents.

At workshop 1, various plenary sessions will address key issues of project development, company management and financing and market conditions in Europe and Asia.
Clare Downs will elaborate on strategies for script development and also give a film analysis on Oldboy by Chan-wook Park. Mathew Scott will interview Roger Garcia focusing on independent cinema and the festival circuit. Sibylle Kurz will introduce the principles of pitching. Michael J. Werner will elaborate on world sales and the state of the market for Asian films. Meinolf Zurhorst will dedicate his session to presenting financing landscape of European TV.
In addition, Paolo Bertolini and Jongsuk Thomas Nam will give a presentation of their respective festivals, namely the Venice Film Festival and the Puchon Int'l Fantastic Film Festival – PiFan. Paolo Bertolini will also present the Doha Film Institute.
Pre-scheduled individual meetings between all experts and the participants will be organised for further discussions on topics they had previously addressed in their plenary sessions. During the individual meetings they will address more specific issues related to the participants’ projects.
Daily group work sessions will be at the core of the workshop. The participants will work in one group in which they will discuss and analyse each other's projects under the guidance of their group leader Elise Jalladeau and Ties that Bind Head of Studies Christophe Bruncher.
The selected participants will also attend the ASEF panel in cooperation with the Udine Far East Film Festival. The theme of the panel is “Acting different: East and West” and it will be moderated by Sabrina Baracetti and Max Tessier. The panellists are Sasiwimon Wongjarin (ASEF), Eugene Domingo (actress in Barber’s Tale), Giuseppe Battiston (actor in Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot), Jun Robles Lana (director of Barber’s Tale) and Matteo Oleotto (director of Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot).
The participants will also be invited to the festival screening of the film Shift directed by Siege Ledesma and produced by TTB 2014 participant Joenthann Alandy.

The programme will culminate in an event in South Korea in October 2014 during the Busan International Film Festival (October 2 – 11, 2014) in parallel to the Asian Project Market in South Korea with the support of Creative Europe (TBC).
During the TIES THAT BIND programme, the selected participants will work together with top level experts from both continents on script development, co-production between Asia and Europe, financing in the two regions, legal aspects of co-production, marketing, pitching and promotion, and meet with key decision makers.
TIES THAT BIND is organised by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, EAVE, Udine Far East Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival/Asian Film Market/Asian Project Market, in partnership with Festival Scope.

Le bureau Europe Créative Strasbourg et la MFG – fonds de soutien du Bade-Wurtemberg – vous convient à la nouvelle édition du Rendez-vous de la coproduction rhénane qui se déroulera les jeudi 10 et vendredi 11 juillet 2014 au Musée d’art moderne et contemporain de Strasbourg. Ce rendez-vous est l’occasion pour les professionnels du cinéma et de l’audiovisuel français, allemands, belges, luxembourgeois et suisses de se retrouver pour deux journées de rencontres et d’échanges.

Objectifs du Rendez-vous
- Permettre aux producteurs d’établir ou d’approfondir des contacts avec les participants afin de faciliter les coproductions par le biais de rendez-vous individuels planifiés par nos soins
.- Donner l’opportunité de présenter des projets en développement pour le cinéma, la télévision ou les nouveaux médias à des coproducteurs, diffuseurs et partenaires financiers transfrontaliers, notamment grâce à notre catalogue de projets.
- Échanger autour de la question de la coproduction lors du débat d’actualité, à l’occasion des études de cas dédiées à ce sujet et autour d’un verre durant les moments off du rendez-vous.
Le catalogue de projets
Dans la perspective des rendez-vous individuels, nous éditons un catalogue bilingue présentant une quarantaine de projets. Pour être retenus, les projets de fiction ou de documentaire doivent être en développement, présenter un potentiel de coproduction ainsi que de diffusion et de distribution à l’international.
Le catalogue, accompagné de la liste des participants porteurs de projets ou non, sera ensuite envoyé courant juin aux professionnels inscrits. Vous pourrez ainsi prendre connaissance de ces deux documents et faire appel à nous pour organiser vos rendez-vous individuels.À noter que les participants dont le projet sera retenu au catalogue devront impérativement s’engager à être présent lors du rendez-vous.

Rheinisches Koproduktionstreffen - Le Rendez-vous de la coproduction rhénane
Das Creative Europe Büro Straβburg und die MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg laden Sie herzlich zum Rheinischen Koproduktionstreffen ein, das am 10. und 11. Juli 2014 im Museum für moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst Straβburg stattfindet.
Das Koproduktionstreffen bietet Filmschaffenden aus Frankreich, Deutschland, Belgien, Luxemburg und der Schweiz, insbesondere aus den Grenzregionen, eine besondere Gelegenheit zum gegenseitigen Austausch.

Ziele des Treffens sind:
- Den Produzenten die Kontaktaufnahme oder -vertiefung zu erleichtern, mit dem Ziel, Koproduktionen auf den Weg zu bringen, insbesondere über die von uns organisierten One-to-one-Meetings.
- Den Teilnehmern die Möglichkeit zu geben, Projekte in Entwicklung für Kino, Fernsehen oder neue Medien potentiellen Koproduzenten, Sendern und Finanzierungspartnern aus den Grenzregionen vorzustellen, besonders über unseren Katalog.
- Allen Anwesenden die Möglichkeit zu geben, sich bei Diskussionsrunden, Fallstudien oder am Rande des offiziellen Programmes über Entwicklungen im Koproduktionsbereich auszutauschen.
Der Projekt-Katalog
Im Hinblick auf die individuellen One-to-one-Meetings geben wir einen zweisprachigen Projekt-Katalog heraus. Der Katalog beinhaltet etwa 40 Spiel, Dokumentar-, und Animationsfilmprojekte im Entwicklungsstadium, die für Koproduktionen in Frage kommen und Potential für eine internationale Auswertung besitzen.
Der Katalog wird allen Teilnehmern, ob mit oder ohne Projekt, zusammen mit einer kompletten Teilnehmerliste zugeschickt. So können Sie sich vorab informieren und uns Ihre Wünsche für individuelle Treffen zukommen lassen.
