European Producers Workshop 2010:

European Producers Workshop 1, 2010

15 - 22 March 2010, Luxembourg

As every year, the EAVE European Producers Workshop had its annual launch in the Grand Duchy in partnership with the Film Fund Luxembourg. For this year's workshop 1, we were delighted to welcome 50 producers from 28 countries from March, 15 - 22 in the Hilton Hotel.

The 2010 EAVE pedagogical team was composed of EAVE Head of Studies Alan Fountain (UK), the four group leaders (all active, experienced producers), Roshanak Behesht Nedjad (Flying Moon, D), Lise Lense-Moller (Magic Hour Films, DK), Danijel Hocevar (emotionfilm, SI), Jani Thiltges (Samsa Film, L); the script consultants Clare Downs (Forever Films, UK), Jacques Akchoti (F), Martin Daniel (USA), and documentary expert Sylvia Stevens (Faction Films, UK). They were supported by the specialized experts for Pitching: Sibylle Kurz (D), Finance: Linda Beath (Ideal Filmworks, I), Marketing: Timo Bayer & Claudio Preil (Schiebe Preil Bayer, D) and Legal Issues: Katrine Schlüter-Schierbeck (Johan Schlüter law firm, DK), who shared their expertise in plenary and group work sessions and individual meetings with the EAVE participants.

Individual meetings with the script analysts, case studies on international co-productions, a special session dedicated to documentary film production and panels have complemented the schedule:

Dutch producer and EAVE 2006 graduate Reinier Selen (Rinkelfilm) has given insight into the production process of the co-production NOTHING PERSONAL, directed by Urszula Anotniak. The film is co-produced by EAVE 2008 graduate Morgan Bushe and EAVE 2004 graduates Macdara Kelleher (Fastnet Films, IRL) and has won numerous awards, among them BEST FILM at the Dutch Film Festival 2009.

The Documentary Case Study came from Erik Gandini, producer and director of VIDEOCRACY. Executive producer is EAVE 2007 graduate Kristina Aberg. The film has been critically acclaimed and awarded Inaugural Special Jury Award at the Sheffield Film Festival, Citti Award to Erik Gandini, Golden Graal and is in numerous selections at various festivals all around the world.

All plenary sessions were open for interested local professionals!

EAVE expresses special gratitude for the support of Workshop 1 to:
