STORM IN THE STARS is shooting

- ANA, MON AMOUR by Calin Peter Netzer, producer: EAVE graduate Oana Kelemen starts shooting. The film is investigating the romantic relationship with all its dependencies and crisis situations against the backdrop of the social realities of Romania and is an adaptation of Cezar-Paul Badescu's novel Luminita, Mon Amour with the script co-written by Netzer and Badescu. Oana Kelemen is producing through Parada Film in co-production with augenschein Filmproduktion and Sophie Dulac Productions. The Romanian National Film Center, Eurimages, the MEDIA Programme, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and France’s Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée are supporting.
- DODE HOEK (BLIND SPOT) by Nabil Ben Nadir, producer: EAVE graduate Benoît Roland and EAVE graduate Peter Bouckaert is in production. The film is slated as a thriller, focusing on the character of Jan Verbeek, a former Antwerp police superintendent who has become a strong voice in a populist political party he is a part of. His rise to power on the political landscape, based on his radical speeches, places him at the very heart of the political and police system – which he reigns over until the day his past is once again brought to light. Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Screen Flanders and the Flanders Audiovisual Fund support this film.

- DIE ANFÄNGERIN by Alexandra Sells, producer: EAVE graduate Martin Heisler started shooting. Production companies: Lichtblick Film, Cine+ Filmproduktion, ZDF (Das kleine Fernsehspiel) and ARTE. Shooting on locations in Berlin and Cologne is planned to last until mid-April.
- FOAM AT THE MOUTH by Janis Nords, producers B'EST graduate Alise Gelze and EAVE graduate and Latvian National Coordinator Aija Berzina is shooting. The film focuses on a former policeman who, after a car crash, starts to train a dog, while his marriage is on the verge of collapse as his wife starts dating a considerably younger man. The story is based on Matthew Gossett's script Origin of a Species adapted to Latvian realities. The film is a co-production between Latvia’s Tasse Films, Lithuania’s ArtBox and Poland’s Madants. Shooting started in February and the premiere is set for 2017. The production is supported by the Latvian National Film Centre and Eurimages European Cinema Support Fund.
- STORM IN THE STARS by Haifaa Al-Mansour, co-producer: EAVE graduate David Grumbach has concluded the Irish segment of the principal photography and the production has now moved to Luxembourg. Written by Emma Jensen and Conor McPherson, the film tells the story of Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, author of Frankenstein, and her tempestuous relationship with the poet Percy Shelley. Amy Baer of US outfit Gidden Media is producing alongside Ruth Coady and Alan Moloney of the UK’s Parallel Films along with co-producer David Grumbach of Luxembourg’s Juliette Films. Financing comes from the Irish Film Board, the British Film Institute and the Luxembourg Film Fund along with HanWay, who will also handle the films international sales.
