IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE now in post-production

- A REAL VERMEER by Rudolf van den Berg, producers: EAVE graduates Reinier Selen and Donnato Rotunno is in post-production. The film, produced by Rinkel Film, Fu Works, Cadenza Films and co-producers Tarantula and Living Stone tells the story about Holland’s most notorious art forger of all time, Han van Meegeren, who became famous for his fake Vermeers. The Dutch Film Fund, the Belgium Tax Shelter, the Film Fund Luxembourg, Cinéart, Creative Europe, the Abraham Tuschinski Fund and Eurimages support the project. A REAL VERMEER will be released September 2016 in the Netherlands.
- IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE by Timo Vuorensola, producers: EAVE graduate Oliver Damian and EAVE graduate Peter de Maegd is in post-production. Germany’s Udo Kier and Julia Dietze, with New Zealand’s Stephanie Paul are in the main cast.
- GRAVE by Julia Ducournau, producer: EAVE graduate and French National Coordinator Jean des Forêts is in post-production. The co-production of Petit Film and Rouge International and Frakas Productions is straddling the genres of comedy, drama and horror. Written by the director, the main character in the story is 16-year-old Justine. All the members of her family are veterinary doctors and vegetarians. On her first day at vet school, she dramatically strays from her family principles when she eats meat, and she soon faces unexpected consequences when her true self arises. Support comes from an advance on receipts by the CNC, the Belgian Tax Shelter via Casa Kafka, Ezekiel Film Productions, Wallimage-Bruxellimage, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the Arte/Cofinova 8 Sofica, the TorinoFilmLab, the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme and Ciclic. The project was also selected by platforms as the Villa Medici/Institut Français, TorinoFilmLab FrameWork, Frontières@Brussels and the Venice Gap-Financing Market.
- CHIEFTAIN by Zsornitsa Sophia, producer: EAVE graduate Irena Markovic is in post-production. The script written by Zornitsa Sofia and based on Nikolay Haitov’s well-known novel Roumena Voevoda focuses on the true character of Roumena, a bold woman from the 19th century who led a male gang during Bulgaria’s Ottoman occupation. Roumena’s life is covered from her birth to the collapse of the rebellious group under her leadership. Bulgaria’s MQ Pictures is producing in co-production with Croatia’s Focus Media. Nu Boyana and Dream Team Films are the Bulgarian co-producers. The film was supported by the Bulgarian National Film Center.
