Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab - a new EAVE collaboration

press release

The Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab (December 3 - 4, 2026, Vienna) presented by International Screen Institute in collaboration with EAVE, is designed for producers ready to engage with AI in a focused, small-group environment, and combines hands-on peer learning with close guidance from experienced mentors.

In a two-day practical, workshop-based format focused on learning by doing, participants work directly with AI tools, practice effective prompting and develop customised workflows or first prototypes for their own production practice.

The Lab is primarily intended for producers who have completed the ISI Future Ready Programme or the EAVE AI Skills Booster. Producers with prior experience working with AI may also apply to attend the Lab as a stand-alone programme.

In order to ensure a shared foundation and to help participants get the most out of the Lab, prior participation of ISI´s Future Ready or EAVE’s AI Skills Booster is highly recommended.

  • Application Deadline: 8 June 2026
  • Regular Programme Fee: 550,- Euros excl. VAT

****Graduates of all EAVE AI Skills Booster editions are eligible for a reduced fee: 450 Euros excl.VAT (10% off the regular fee).

Participants will leave the Lab equipped with:

  • Practical experience applying AI tools to concrete production challenges
  • Having taken essential steps in customising their own personalised AI-based tool, agent, or workflow, developed during the Lab and adapted to their professional needs, individual projects, or existing production pipelines
  • Increased confidence in experimenting with emerging technologies
  • A grounded understanding of ethical, legal, and business implications of AI use
  • Enhanced collaboration skills across creative, technical, and legal perspectives
  • Greater awareness of diversity, ethics, and representation in AI-driven tools and platforms

These outcomes support producers in translating experimentation into responsible and sustainable use of innovation and digital technologies.

The Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab is designed for producers with prior hands-on experience working with AI technologies.

Project requirement
Applicants are expected to apply with a concrete project, production challenge, or development context they wish to work on during the Lab. This ensures that the hands-on format can be directly applied to real-world workflows and individual professional needs.

Prior experience & selection criteria
The Lab is designed for participants with prior exposure to AI-related tools or workflows. Applicants who have previously participated in the Future Ready programme or the EAVE AI Skills Booster will be prioritised in the selection process. For all other applicants, participation in a comparable AI-focused workshop or training programme is strongly recommended to ensure a shared baseline for experimentation and peer exchange.

The working language of the Lab is English; therefore, a good working proficiency is recommended. Applications are welcome from individuals of all nationalities.
Please note that, in the selection process, diversity across participating companies is taken into consideration.
