COURTHOUSE by Chiara Bellosi, producer: EAVE graduate Carlo Cresto-Dina is in production. The drama film by the first-time director is being produced by tempesta and depicts a day in a civil justice case in a big Italian court. At the centre of the case is a hearing: in the dock are a young robber and a petrol pump attendant who reacted after the hold-up, opening fire and killing the former's very young accomplice. We see the whole ritual, gowns and all, and we hear the jargon. But we also see the things outside: the corridors, the offices, the daily comings and goings at the court, the noise, the chaos. Meanwhile, the families, children and wives of the accused, and those of the victims, wait outside. Carlo Cresto-Dina’s company is producing together with Rai Cinema, in co-production with Swiss outfit Cinedokké, with support from MiBAC – General Directorate for Cinema, the Piemonte Film TV Fund and the Torino Piemonte Film Commission.

HOMO by Igor Ivanov, co-producer: EAVE graduate Miroslav Mogorovic has started filming. A five-week shooting schedule is planned, including more than 20 locations in Skopje. Six entirely different stories about six characters from Skopje intertwine here and now. Through the labyrinth of the disintegrated society, their destinies change forever. Each story has a separate title according to the main character of the story, borrowed from the terminology used by philosophic anthropology, trying to define the specifics of humanity. Igor Ivanov wrote the script together with Saso Kokalanov. Tomi Salkovski is producing through Skopje Film Studio while Bulgaria’s Gala Film, the Belgrade-based Art & Popcorn, Slovenia’s Iridium Film and Kosovo’s Trigger are co-producing. The project is supported by the Macedonian Film Agency, the Bulgarian National Film Center, Film Center Serbia, as well as the Kosovo Cinematography Center and the Slovenian Film Centre.
