Resolving to finally meet the man who’s long been absent from her life, Iris tracks him down to a forgotten shipyard. What begins as a stubborn quest for recognition evolves into a subtle, uneasy bond marked by conflict, tentative gestures and emotional fragility. HOLD ON TO ME is a Cypriot-Danish-Greek-US co-production by Monica Nicolaidou for Filmblades and Aristidou’s One Six One Films, in co-production with Anders N U Berg for Denmark’s Fredo Pictures, and Konstantina Stavrianou and Rena Vougioukalou for Athens-based Graal SA, while Mark Hollinger and Thomas J Mangan IV serve as executive producers for Pleasant Bay Pictures (USA) and Mango Productions (USA). - ULYA by Viesturs Kairis, producers: EAVE graduates Guntis Trekteris, Pille Rünk, Malgorzata Staron and Ieva Norviliene is in post-production. The biographical drama about the world-famous basketball player Ulyana Semyonova follows her path from an old-believers community on the South Eastern border of Latvia to international fame, portraying both her personal journey and her symbolic role as a Cold War-era sports icon. ULYA is a Latvian/Estonian/Polish/Lithuanian co-production, produced by Guntis Trekteris through Ego Media (Latvia), Pille Rünk through Allfilm (Estonia), Malgorzata Staron through Staron Film (Poland), and Ieva Norviliene through Tremora (Lithuania). The film was shot in Latgale (Eastern Latvia) and Riga in 30 days across three sessions: the winter of 2024, the autumn of 2024 and the spring of 2025. “With the 1960s and 70s rarely depicted on screen, capturing the essence of that Soviet-era period demanded extraordinary effort and creativity from both the production and costume design teams,” said Latvian producer Guntis Trekteris. The film’s financing is coming from the National Film Centre of Latvia, the Estonian Film Institute, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia (kulka.ee), the Polish Film Institute (pisf.pl), the Lithuanian Film Centre, and the Riga City Council. An international premiere is planned for early 2026.
