Critics’ Choice Award for EAVE project THE HERE AFTER in Luxembourg
Awards March 2016
Three awards for EAVE graduates at the Sofia International Film Festival:
- I, OLGA HEPNAROVA by Petr Kazda, Tomas Weinreb, co-producer: EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille won Best Director.
- FRENZY by Emin Alper, producer: EAVE graduate Enis Köstepen was given the Domaine Boyar Award for Best Balkan Film.
- EAVE Project THE PARADISE SUITE by Joost van Ginkel, producer: EAVE graduate Ellen Havenith received a Special Mention.
Two awards for Golden Girls at the Diagonale – Festival of Austrian Film:
- ONE OF US by Stephan Richter, producer: EAVE graduate Arash T. Riahi won the Diagonale Prize Innovative Cinema
- KINDERS by the Riahi Brothers, producer: EAVE graduate Arash T. Riahi wont the Diagonale-Audience Award
- NEON BULL by Gabriel Mascaro, producer: EAVE graduate Marleen Slot was awarded Best Film in the Colombian competition of the Cartagena Film Festival.
- ABOVE AND BELOW by Nicolas Steiner, producer: EAVE graduate Helge Albers won three times at the Swiss Film Awards. The film won Best Documentary, Best Editing and the Special Award for Best Sound Mix.
- HUMIDITY (VLAZNOST) by Nikola Ljuca, producers: EAVE graduates Natasa Damnjanovic, co-producers: EAVE graduates Derk-Jan Warring, Leontine Petit, EAVE+ graduate Joost De Vries picked up the main award, the Belgrade Victor for Best Film, as well as Best Director and Best Actor. It also received a Special Mention from the jury for the Nebojsa Djukelic Award for Best Regional Film.
- The Best Actress Award went to Mirjana Karanovic for her role in A GOOD WIFE by Mirjana Karanovic, producers: EAVE graduates Snežana Penev and Sinisa Juricic. The actress, for whom the film is also a directorial debut, also won the newly established Milutin Colic Award from the Politika newspaper.
At the 28th Cinélatino Festival in Toulouse, the Films in Progress jury handed out an exceptional award to:
- LOS NINOS by Puentes graduate Maite Alberdi, producer: EAVE graduate Denis Vaslin.
- RAMS (HRÚTUR) by Grimur Hákornason, co-produced by EAVE graduate Ditte Milsted scooped 11 awards on a single festival. At the Edda Awards, Iceland’s national film prize, RAMS won among other awards Best Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Editing – and Sigurður Sigurjónsson and Theodór Júlíusson were awarded for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
- 11 MINUTES by Jerzy Skolimowski, producer: EAVE graduate Ed Guiney was awarded for Best Editing at the Eagles, the annual awards for Polish film, handed out by the Polish Film Academy.
- SCHMITKE by Stepan Altrichter, producer: EAVE graduate Susann Schimk was awarded Best Sound and Best Musicat the 23rd edition of the annual Czech Lion Awards handed out by the Czech Film and Television Academy.
- THE HIGH SUN by Dalibor Matanic, producer: EAVE graduate and Croatian National Coordinator Ankica Juric Tilic, co-producers: EAVE graduate and Serbian National Coordinator Miroslav Mogorovic and EAVE graduate Petra Vidmar won the Grand Prize for Fiction and Human Rights at the International Film Festival and Forum for Human Rights (FIFDH), Geneva.
- The Young Jury Prize went to Interchange project 3000 NIGHTS by Mai Masri, producer: EAVE graduate Tunje Berns.
- EAVE project MONSTERMAN by Antti Haase, producer: EAVE graduate Velna Hellstedt has won the award for Best Original Soundtrack at the Seeyousound International Music Film Festival in Torino. The award was handed out by Rolling Stone Magazine.
- PAULINA by Santiago Mitre, producer: EAVE graduate Didar Domehri won the Grand Jury Prize at the Miami International Film Festival.
- THE LOBSTER by Yorgos Lanthimos, producer: EAVE graduate Ed Guiney, co-producers: EAVE graduate Léontine Petit and EAVE graduate Derk-Jan Warrink won the Best Director Award.

- EAVE Project THE HERE AFTER by Magnus von Horn, producer: EAVE graduate Mariusz Wlodarski, co-producer: EAVE graduate Sophie Erbs won the Prix de la Critique at the Luxembourg City Film Festival.
- FRENZY by Emin Alper, producer: EAVE graduate Enis Köstepen received a Special Mention.
- THE FENCER by Klaus Härö, producer: EAVE graduate Kaarle Aho won two Jussis, for Best Film and Best Cinematography, at the Finnish National Film Awards.
- ARMI ALIVE by Jörn Donner, producers: EAVE graduate Mark Lwoff, EAVE graduate Misha Jaari won Best Original Script and Best Set Design.
- OSCURO ANIMAL by Felipe Guerrero, producer: EAVE graduate Gema Juárez Allen, co-producers: EAVE graduates Marleen Slot, Ingmar Trost, Vicky Miha won Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Photography at the Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara.
- NEON BULL by Gabriel Mascaro, producer: EAVE graduate Marleen Slot received a Special Mention.
- ENG NEI ZÄIT (TOMORROW AFTER THE WAR) by Christophe Wagner, associate producer: EAVE graduate and EAVE Head of Studies Jani Thiltges picked up three awards, including Best Film, Best Artistic Contribution and Best Technical Contribution at the seventh edition of the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis.
- The Best Co-production Award went to LE TOUT NOUVEAU TESTAMENT by Jaco Van Dormael, producers: EAVE graduate Paul Thiltges and EAVE graduate and Luxembourgish National Coordinator David Grumbach.
- SONG OF THE SEA by Tomm Moore, co-producer: EAVE graduate Isabelle Truc was chosen as Best Animated Co-production.
- NECKTIE YOUTH by Sibs Shongwe-La Mer, producer: EAVE graduate Elias Ribeiro won two awards at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in the categories Best Cinematography and Best Editing.
- AFERIM! by Radu Jude, producer: EAVE graduate & Romanian National Coordinator Ada Solomon, EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny won 12 out of 14 possible awards at the Romanian GOPO Awards.
- THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN, directed and produced by EAVE graduate Anca Damian, co-producers: EAVE graduate Benedicte Thomas and EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille was awarded Best Musical Score.
- ALIYAH DADA by EAVE graduate Oana Giurgiu won Best Documentary.
