BORDERS OF LOVE by Tomasz Winski in post-production
In Post-production December 2021
- SUMMER TO COME by György Mor Karpati, producer: EAVE graduate and Hungarian National Coordinator Viktoria Petranyi is in post-production. The film homes in on a relatively taboo subject, which also seems to be a rising phenomenon in recent years: teenage suicide. Written by the director, the story revolves around a class of high schoolers who are attending a summer camp. Restless 18-year-old Milan is preparing his very own showdown. A love triangle is forming between himself, Anna and Dani. The tension mounts during a hike, at the end of which the three of them are sent home. The question of their feelings remains unresolved, and the showdown never happens. One year later, following graduation, the camp takes place once again. But Milan is no longer with them: he took his own life during the previous semester. His classmates remember him and struggle to process their loss… Now in the final stages of post-production, SUMMER TO COME is produced by Viktoria Petranyi on behalf of Proton Cinema and is co-produced by Tamas Hutlassa for Café Film.
- BORDERS OF LOVE by Tomasz Winski, producer: EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny is in post-production. Winski’s previous short film examined the power dynamics when two girls find a man willing to pretend to be a dog in their presence. However, the BDSM-inspired story explored the boundaries of freedom and the fine line between that and destructive behaviour. Now, Winski’s first feature expands on this topic while adhering to an equally provocative premise. After Hana and Petr start facing a crisis in their marriage, they decide to remedy the situation by opening up their relationship. The only stipulation is that they must both remain entirely honest, including telling the other person all of the details of their new sexual escapades. The couple’s social experiment soon turns into a power struggle. However, the drama focuses on the psychology of sex, rather than on the sex itself. BORDERS OF LOVE is being produced by endorfilm and Winski’s own outfit, One Way Ticket Films, and co-produced by Pink Production and Czech Television. The Czech Film Fund has supported the project.
