PUENTES is the most relevant and successful training programme for developing European-Latin American co-production as the track record of successful production shows: THE HEIRESSES by Marcelo Martinessi will premiere in Berlinale competition. Some other recent examples of films developed at PUENTES are for example UN TRADUCTOR by Sebastián & Rodrigo Barriuso (Sundance World Dramatic Competition 2018), MESSI AND MAUD by Marleen Jonkman (Toronto Discovery 2017, IFFR 2018) and many more.
The above mentioned projects had been selected for the PUENTES – Europe / Latin America Co-Production Workshop, where the projects were developed over one year by the attending producers under the guidance of top notch consultants, working on the script development, the financial, co-production, marketing and distribution strategies and where the producers extended their professional network meeting key players of the industry in Europe and Latin America.
PUENTES is targeted at Latin American & European producers with projects, 10 of which will be selected for the workshop. We are also open to receive the applications of other European professionals interested in working with Latin America (sales agents, financiers, distributors, festival programmers, co-production market representatives) or European producers without project. 4-5 of them will be selected to be an active part of the group.
The 14-15 selected participants attend 2 workshops. The first one will be held in Trieste, Italy (July 9-13, 2018) in partnership with MiBACT and FVG Audiovisual Fund. Workshop 2 will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay in December 5-9, 2018, just before Ventana Sur in partnership with Mutante Cine, with the support of ICAU (Instituto de Cine y Audiovisual del Uruguay), Egeda and Montevideo Socio Audiovisual. Thanks to a special partnership, all participants are able to attend VENTANA SUR (December 10-14, 2018, in Buenos Aires) after workshop 2.
For this upcoming edition of PUENTES we are proud to announce a new long term strategic partnership with Italy as privileged host country of the first session of PUENTES, thanks to MiBACT and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund.

The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS is March 19, 2018.
The selection will be made by a selection committee and will be published by the end of April 2018.
