MFI Script 2 Film Workshops
Deadline for applications is 6 March, 2019
Creative teams with a film project and script-development professionals are eligible to apply for the training programme, which takes place on the Greek islands.
Organised by the Mediterranean Film Institute (MFI), the MFI Script 2 Film Workshops advanced script and project development training programme has launched the call for its 2019 session. Placing its focus on story design development and implementation across various narrative formats (feature films, documentaries and TV series) and unspooling via the corresponding platforms (MFI Film Lab, Doc Lab and TV Lab), the programme consists of four intensive workshop sessions, both residential and online, based primarily on group work, master classes, lectures, plenary sessions, case studies and individual consultations throughout a six-month cycle.
European and international creative teams, composed of screenwriters, producers and directors, with a feature fiction film, feature documentary or TV series project in development are eligible to apply, and the deadline is 6 March 2019. Script development professionals who do not have a project are also welcome to apply until 20 April 2019.

Rough Cut: New format and more opportunities
Deadline for applications: March 13, 2019
If your project is in a rough cut stage and you are looking for both funding and creative advice, you can present it to the Rough Cut selection.
A selection of up to 4 projects in rough cut stage will participate in a one-hour creative consultancy, in the presentation of its project in front of a panel of experts, and in individual meetings with part of this panel of financiers. Each presentation will be 30 minutes long; 15 minutes of presentation + 15 minutes of feedback from the panel.

To submit a project to the Rough Cut DocsBarcelona is required:
Registration for this activity is free and projects must be submitted is done through e-mail at: registration@docsbarcelona.com. The e-mail must include:
• One unique PDF document with a presentation of your project, maximum 2 pages long in English.
• The link of the project trailer.
• The link of a selected scene.
• The link of the rough cut to visualize the whole project.
The first selection phase will evaluate the presentation of the project, the trailer and the selected scene. The last phase of the selection will evaluate the rough cut.
The Rough Cut registration is free of charge.

Deadline for submission: March 25, 2019
The new creative documentary workshop „Ice and Fire Docs“ for Estonian and Finnish filmmakers is a joint initiative of the Estonian Documentary Guild, the Estonian Film Institute and the European Documentary Network. It was announced at the festival DocPoint Tallinn.
The creative director of the workshop is a well-known tutor Mikael Opstrup. The second principal tutor is an internationally renowned film editor Jesper Osmund from Denmark with over 100 documentary film credits.
The workshop lasts for a year and consists of three parts. The first and second sessions focus on the development of narrative, visual aspects of storytelling and editing techniques. The last session will take place during the DocPoint 2020 festival with a special focus on promotion and distribution.

MIDPOINT Intensive Lithuania
Deadline for applications: March 24, 2019
We are very pleased to announce MIDPOINT´s intensive program in Kaunas, Lithuania (May 5 – 8, 2019) aimed at Lithuanian film professionals. Thanks to a partnership with Lithuanian Film Centre, this 4-day workshop has been made possible.
Lithuanian creative teams of writers and/or directors and producers can apply with their first or second feature film project. The program will focus on the creative development of the script as well as on the production aspects of projects. The program also offers tailor-made online consultations after the program concludes, according to the need of each project.

MIDPOINT Intensive Lithuania is supported by Lithuanian Film Centre and Ministry of Culture Czech Republic. MIDPOINT operates under the auspices of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

30th edition of FIDMarseille
Deadline for submissions for films produced in 2018 and 2019: March 31, 2019
All films produced after January 1, 2018 are eligible.
In order to give the best care to the films and to improve our selection process, submissions are now charged with a fee.
Two forms are available:
One for shorts (under 60 minutes), whose fee is 10€
One for feature (equal or more than 60 minutes), whose fee is 25€
The FID continues this year, the process allowing people to register a film, a FIDLab project or for an accreditation. Two options are available to you:
– If you have, since 2014, registered a film, a FIDLab project or if you have asked for an accreditation, please register your film using your user account.
– If you have not, since 2014, registered a film, a FIDLab project or if you have not asked for an accreditation, you will be redirected to a website (Eventival) which allows you to manage your business information and your relationship with the festival.
At first, you must register by creating a user account with your email address and password.
After this step, you can access to the film registration.
