Two main awards for EAVE project BROTHERS in Leipzig
Awards November 2015
- TOGETHER FOR EVER by Lina Luzyte, producer: EAVE graduate Dagne Vildziunaite gained the FilmFly Award for Best Project in the International Works in Progress Section of the Baltic Event.
- EAVE project ALI, THE GOAT AND IBRAHIM by Ibrahim El Batout, producers: EAVE graduate Hossam Elouan, EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille received a Special Mention.
Success for EAVE graduates in Cottbus:
- THE HIGH SUN by Dalibor Matanic, producer: EAVE graduate and Croatian National Coordinator Ankica Juric Tilic, co-producers: EAVE graduate and Serbian National Coordinator Miroslav Mogorovic and EAVE graduate Petra Vidmar won the Main Prize for Best Film at the Cottbus Festival of East European Cinema. The film has also won the FIPRESCI Prize. In addition, Tihana Lazovic received the Award for Outstanding Actress.
- The Award for Outstanding Actor went to Karel Roden for his role in FAMILY FILM by Olmo Omerzu, producer: EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny.
- THE WEDNESDAY CHILD by Lili Horvath, producer: EAVE graduate Károly Fehér received the Special Prize for Best Director.
- The Cottbus Student Jury Award for Best Debut Film was given to BABAI by Visar Morina, producer: EAVE graduate Nicole Gerhards.
- The Cottbus Discovery Award went to THE WORLD IS MINE (LUMEA E A MEA) by Nicolae Constantin Tanase, producer: EAVE graduate Tudor Giurgiu.
- The coco Post Pitch Award of the connecting cottbus East-West Co-production Market went to VENICE by Rusudan Chkonia, producer: EAVE graduate Vladimer Katcharava.
- A GERMAN YOUTH (UNE JEUNESSE ALLEMANDE) by Jean-Gabriel Périot, producer: EAVE graduate Eugenia Mumenthaler received the the Critics Award at the 22nd edition of the Barcelona Independent Film Festival, l'Alternativa.
- LAND AND SHADE (LA TIERRA Y LA SOMBRA) by César Augusto Acevedo, producer: PUENTES graduate Diana Bustamante, co-producer: EAVE graduate Laurette Schillings won the New Auteurs Grand Jury Award at the AFI FEST Santa Monica.
- The Jury Grand Prize of the Amiens Film Festival, went to THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN, directed and produced by EAVE graduate Anca Damian, co-producers: EAVE graduate Benedicte Thomas and EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille.
- EVA DOESN’T SLEEP by Pablo Agüero, producer: EAVE graduate Marianne Dumoulin received the Best Director Award
- The Audience Award was given to PARASOL by Valéry Rosier, producer: EAVE graduate Benoît Roland.
- THE RED SPIDER by Marcin Koszalka, co-producer: EAVE graduate Michal Kollar won the Prix de la Critique at the Arras International Film Festival.
- THE FENCER by Klaus Härö, producer: EAVE graduate Kaarle Aho was awarded the Prix du public.
- LOUDER THAN BOMBS by Joachim Trier, executive producer: EAVE graduate Sigve Endresen was voted Best Film in the international competition of the Stockholm International Film Festival.
- Best Actress went to Julija Steponaityte for her role in THE SUMMER OF SANGAILE by Alanté Kavaité, producers: EAVE graduates Zivile Gallego, Marleen Slot and EAVE+ graduate Antoine Simkine.
- The Stockholm Visionary Award went to THE LOBSTER, producer: EAVE graduate Ed Guiney, co-producers: EAVE graduate Léontine Petit and EAVE graduate Derk-Jan Warrink
- LAND AND SHADE (LA TIERRA Y LA SOMBRA) by César Augusto Acevedo, producer: PUENTES graduate Diana Bustamante, co-producer: EAVE graduate Laurette Schillings won the top prize in the fiction feature competition of the Bratislava International Film Festival and the FIPRESCI Award as well.
- The winner in the documentary section was A GERMAN YOUTH (UNE JEUNESSE ALLEMANDE) by Jean-Gabriel Périot, producer: EAVE graduate Eugenia Mumenthaler.
- The ARABIAN NIGHTS Trilogy by Miguel Gomes, co-producer: EAVE graduate Jonas Dornbach won the Silver Giraldillo for Best Film at the Seville International Film Festival and the Asecan Best Film Award
- ONE FLOOR BELOW by Radu Muntean, co-producer: EAVE participant Oana Kelemen received the Best Screenplay Award. Teo Corban won the Best Actor Award.
- POZOAMARGO by Enrique Rivero, co-producer: EAVE graduate Felipe Lage Coro scooped the Best Film Award in the New Waves Section.
- The Eurimages Award for Best European Co-Production went to THE LOBSTER by Yorgos Lanthimos, producer: EAVE graduate Ed Guiney, co-producers: EAVE graduate Léontine Petit and EAVE graduate Derk-Jan Warrink
- AFERIM! by Radu Jude, producer: EAVE graduate & Romanian National Coordinator Ada Solomon, EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny won the Youth Jury Award at the Cork Film Festival.
- The SILVER EYE AWARDS for Best feature-length documentary at the Jihlava Documentary Film Festival went to OVER THE YEARS by Nikolaus Geyrhalter, producer: EAVE graduate Michael Kitzberger.
- DRIFTER by Gábor Hörcher, producer: EAVE graduate and German National Coordinator Jonas Weydemann received a Special Mention.
- 11 MINUTES by Jerzy Skolimowski, producer: EAVE graduate Ed Guiney won the Best Film Prize at the Lisbon and Estoril MEO Film Festival.
- EAVE project BROTHERS by Wojciech Staron, producer: EAVE graduate Malgorzata Staron won the Golden Dove at the Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury.
- The MDR-Film-Prize for outstanding Eastern-European Film went to THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN, directed and produced by EAVE graduate Anca Damian, co-producers: EAVE graduate Benedicte Thomas and EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille
- EAVE Marketing Workshop project NOMA MY PERFECT STORM by Pierre Deschamps, producer: EAVE Marketing Workshop graduate Etta Deschamps won the Tokyo Gohan Award and Best Documentary film at San Sebastian IFF Culinary Cinema.
- EAVE project MONSTERMAN by Antti Haase, producer: EAVE graduate Velna Hellstedt has won the award for best documentary film at the Austin Film Festival.
- RAMS (HRÚTUR) by Grimur Hákornason, co-produced by EAVE participant Ditte Milsted won the main prize, the Golden Alexander Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
- LAND AND SHADE (LA TIERRA Y LA SOMBRA) by César Augusto Acevedo, producer: PUENTES graduate Diana Bustamante, co-producer: EAVE graduate Laurette Schillings picked up a total of three awards: the Silver Alexander, the Human Values Award and the Audience Award.
- ROAD TO LA PAZ by Francisco Varone, producer: EAVE graduate Gema Juarez Allen won the Bronze Alexander.
- SILENT by Giorgos Gikapeppas, producer: EAVE graduate Alexandra Boussiou was awarded the FIPRESCI Prize.
- The Two Thirty Five co-production award at Thessaliniki’s Crossroads Co-production Forum went to USUD by: Stefan Malisevic, producer: EAVE participant Vladimir Vasiljevic.
- THE LAND OF NO ONE, Directed by: Christina Koutsospyrou & Aran Hughes, produced by: B’EST graduate Vassilis Chrysanthopoulos received the CNC Development Award.
- And the AGORA WORKS IN PROGRESS Award went to THE LAST DAY by Gabriel Achim, producer: EAVE graduate Dan Burlac
- KOZA by Ivan Ostrochovsky, producer: EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny received the special mention of the jury at the Geneva International Film Festival Tous Écrans.
- DÉGRADÉ producers and directors: Interchange graduates Arab & Tarzan Nasser received the Special Mention and the movie also snagged the Young Audience Award at the Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival.
- THREE WINDOWS AND A HANGING by Isa Qosja, producer: EAVE graduate Shkumbin Istrefi, co-producer: EAVE graduate Nicole Gerhards won the Critics’ Award.
- TOTO AND HIS SISTERS by Alexander Nanau, producer: EAVE graduate Marcian Lazar also received a Special Mention.
- RAMS (HRÚTUR) by Grimur Hákornason, co-produced by EAVE graduate Ditte Milsted won the top prize, the Golden Spike at the Valladolid Film Festival.
- Interchange project 3000 NIGHTS by Mai Masri, producer: EAVE graduate Tunje Berns won the top prize of the Meeting Point section.
- YOU CARRY ME by Ivona Juka, producer: EAVE graduate Daniel Hocevar won the Grand Prix at Vienna Let’s CEE Film Festival.
