PUENTES proudly announces the selection for the sixth edition!
We are delighted to announce the selection for the sixth edition of the PUENTES Europe – Latin America Producers Workshop!
Throughout the 6 years of its existence, PUENTES has become the most relevant and successful training programme for developing European-Latin American co-production with exceptionally good results in terms of sales and distribution and festival exposure: 69% of the finalised projects developed at PUENTES got an international sales agent on board and over 84,6% of the projects have a successful festival exposure.
Recent examples of successful PUENTES projects in terms of festivals and international distribution are HISTORIA DEL MIEDO by Benjamin Naishtat (Berlinale Competition 2014), FERIADO by Diego Araujo (Berlinale Generation 14+ 2014), TANTA AGUA by Ana Guevara & Leticia Jorge (Berlinale Panorama 2013), TRES by Pablo Stoll (Cannes Directors’ Fortnight 2012) and GLORIA by Sebastian Lelio (Berlinale Competition 2013) which was sold to 29 countries worldwide.
The 6th edition of PUENTES 2014/5 will feature 2 workshops: one in Montevideo, Uruguay (Nov 27-Dec 1, 2014) with the partnership of Mutante Cine and one in Locarno, Switzerland (August 2015) in the framework of the Festival del film Locarno.
The programme will bring together fourteen producers and other professionals from Europe and Latin America to work on feature film projects in development. They will be working together throughout the year with leading experts from both continents on script development, pitching, co-production, financing, legal aspects, marketing, distribution and sales, and will meet with decision makers during both sessions.
Parallel to the PUENTES workshop, a tailor-made EAVE ON DEMAND session in Montevideo will be organised for selected Uruguayan producers. In addition to their ‘à la carte” workshop, the producers will have the opportunity to network with the PUENTES participants.
Thanks to the special partnership with VENTANA SUR (Dec 1-5, 2014), the producers selected for PUENTES and EAVE ON DEMAND Uruguay will attend the market in Buenos Aires.
