Fondation GAN for 40 DAYS OF SILENCE…
- 40 DAYS OF SILENCE by Saodat Ismailova (UZ), will start its pre-production in January. The film is produced by Denis Vaslin, Volya Films (NL) and co-produced by Jean des Forêts, Petit Film (FR) and Benny Drechsel & Karsten Stöter, Rohfilm (DE).
The film is supported by Rotterdam Media Fund, Fonds Sud Cinema, World Cinema Fund, Hubert Bals Plus, MEDIA development, Global Film Initiative, Hubert Bals development, Göteborg FF development. The film has also received the Fondation GAN with 60,000 euros.

- MAN ON ASPHALT (OR THE WOMAN WHO BRUSHED OFF HER TEARS), produced by EAVE 2008 graduate and Macedonian National Coordinator Labina Mitevska is in preparation. Co-producers are EAVE 2008 graduate Guido Schwab and EAVE 2010 participant Marcel Lenz of ostlicht filmproduktion. The film has received 400,000 Euro production funding by from Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM). Shooting is planned for March 2011.

- SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN by Yesim Ustaoglu, producer: EAVE 2009 graduate Serkan Cakarer of Ustaoglu Films is in pre-production. The Film about two young people waiting for the chance to escape from their empty monotonous lives is co-produced by ARTE, CDP, and The Match Factory. Funding comes from the World Cinema Fund (WCF) and Medienboard Berlin/Brandenburg. Shooting starts January 2011.

- Caroline Strubbe is working on her second film DEEP IN A DREAM OF YOU. The second part of the EAVE 2006 project LOST PERSONS AREA project is produced by EAVE 2006 graduate Tomas Leyers. Shooting is planned for summer 2011.

- TEAM MARIO, the second film by Nic Balthazar received production funding from both the Dutch Film Fund and the Film Fund of the French speaking Community in Belgium. The film is produced by EAVE 2009 graduate Peter Bouckaert (eyeworks, B) in co-production with Flinck Film (NL) and EAVE 1994 graduate and group leader Diana Elbaum of Entre Chien Et Loup (B). Principal photography is planned for April/May 2011.

- The animation film THE SUICIDE SHOP, written and directed by Patrice Leconte is in pre-production. Production companies are EAVE 1994 graduate and group leader Diana Elbaum’s Entre Chien Et Loup, La Petite Reine, Caramel Films, ARP Sélection and Diabolo Films. The story, based on the novel by Jean Teulé, focuses on the youngest son of a family whose joie-de-vivre threatens his family's thriving suicide utensil shop business. Shooting starts in January 2011.

- OUR CHILDREN by Joachim Lafosse is in pre-production. The film, co-produced by EAVE 2000 graduate Jacques-Henri and Olivier Bronckart, and EAVE 1992 graduate and president Jani Thiltges, is inspired by the true story of a mother who murdered her five children before attempting suicide. Co-production companies besides Samsa Film and Versus Production: MK2, Prime Time, RTBF - Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française and Box Productions. Financed by: Wallimage, Media Development Fund, Belgian French Community, Inver Invest Tax Shelter, Film Fund Luxembourg, Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds (VAF) and Swiss Federal Office of Culture (BAK). Shooting is planned to begin May 2011

- SHANGHAI-BELLEVILLE by Show-Chun Lee, producer: EAVE 2009 graduate Juliette Grandmont is in pre-production. Co-produced by Les Petites Lumières and Charivari Films (EAVE 1998 graduate Elise Jalladeau), the film tells the story of a group of Chinese immigrants who live illegally in the Belleville area of Paris, an "Eldorado" where they all hope to find a better life. The film has a budget of 2.5m Euro and is financed by the CNC (Centre National de la Cinématographie) and the Région Ile-de-France. Shooting is planned for July and August 2011.

HALOLA by Georgian director Georgi Beridze, producer: EAVE 1999 graduate Veit Helmer is in development. Shooting of the film about a man who divorces his wife but then changes his mind is planned for August 2011. HALOLA is written and directed by Tajik director Bakhtyar Khudojnazarov.
