EAVE project SPACEBOY wins at Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival

Awards June 2021

LUX Audience Award

  • COLLECTIVE by Alexander Nanau, producer: EAVE graduate and Luxembourgish National Coordinator Bernard Michaux won the first edition of the LUX Audience Award. The ceremony was held on 9 June, during the Plenary Session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.



  • TATA (FATHER) by Lina Vdovii & Radu Ciorniciuc, producer: EAVE graduate Monica Lazurean-Gorgan from the Romanian company Manifest Film won the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award dedicated to documentaries and presented at CPH:FORUM. The jury consisted of EAVE graduate Monica Hellström (Final Cut for Real), Xavier Henry-Rashid (CEO Film Republic) and Nino Kirtadze (Eurimages National Representative for Georgia).


Tribeca Film Festival

  • BRIGHTON 4TH by Levan Koguashvili, producer: EAVE graduate Olena Yershova won best film, best actor (Levan Tediashvili) and best script awards at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The film also received an award from Netflix, which will contribute to its distribution.


Krakow Film Festival

  • WALK WITH ANGELS by Tomasz Wysokinski, producer: EAVE graduate Piotr Kobus was the winner of the Krakow Film Festival receiving the highest award – the Golden Hobby-Horse for best film – as well as the Polish Producers Alliance Award for Piotr Kobus and Agnieszka Drewno (Mañana) and the Best Music award (Pawel Mykietyn). The film also received the Krakow Film Festival’s recommendation for the European Film Award.


Austrian Diagonale Awards

EAVE graduates win 8 awards at Austria’s Diagonale:

  • WHY NOT YOU (HOCHWALD) by Evi Romen, producer: EAVE + graduate Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu won the Grand Diagonale Prize for Best Feature Film and the Costume Design award
  • FOX IN A HOLE by Arman T. Riahi, producers: EAVE graduates Arash T. Riahi, Karin C. Berger was awarded Best Fiction Feature Film Editing
  • EPICENTRO by Hubert Sauper, producer: EAVE graduate Gabriele Kranzelbinder won Best Documentary Film Editing
  • IF IT WERE LOVE by Patric Chiha, producer: Interchange graduate Charlotte Vincent was awarded Best Documentary Feature Cinematography
  • SOLDAT AHMET by Jannis Lenz, producer: EAVE graduate David Bohun won Best Documentary Feature Sound Design
  • ME, WE by David Clay Diaz, producer: EAVE graduate Antonin Svoboda was awarded Best Actor (Lukas Miko)
  • THE TROUBLE WITH BEING BORN by Sandra Wollner, producer: EAVE graduate David Bohun won the Prize for Outstanding Production Services



  • MIGUEL’S WAR by Eliane Raheb, producer: EAVE graduate Felipe Lage Coro won second place of the Panorama Audience Award in the summer edition of the Berlinale.


Italian Nastri d‘Argento

  • THE MACALUSO SISTERS by Emma Dante, producer: EAVE graduate Marica Stocchi wins big at Italian’s Nastri D’Argento: the film won Best Film, Best Producer, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Sound.
  • MISS MARX di Susanna Nicchiarelli, producer: Interchange graduate Marta Donzelli, TTB graduate Valérie Bournonville was awarded Best Film of the Year.
  • NON MI UCCIDERE by Andrea de Sica, producer: Interchange graduate Marta Donzelli won the 'Guglielmo Biraghi' Prize for Young Filmmakers.


Greek Iris Awards

  • DIGGER by Georgis Grigorakis, co-producer: EAVE+ graduate Fenia Cossovitsa dominated the Hellenic Film Academy (Helfiac) Iris awards, winning 10 of the 14 awards for which it was nominated, including best film, director, first film and screenplay and cinematography.
  • SOW THE WIND by Danilo Caputo, producers: EAVE graduates Marianne Dumoulin, Konstantina Stavrianou was awarded Best feature film, fiction (Greek minority co-production).


Annecy International Animated Film Festival

  • FLEE by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, producers: EAVE graduates Monica Hellstrøm, Signe Byrge Sørensen won the Crystal for Best Feature Film at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.


Art Film Fest Kosice

  • OASIS by Ivan Ikic, producers: EAVE graduate and Serbian National Coordinator Milan Stojanovic & EAVE graduate Marija Stojanovic, co-producers: EAVE graduates Miha Cernec, Derk-Jan Warrink, Adis Djapo, EAVE graduate and National Coordinator Bosnia and Herzegovina Amra Baksic-Camo won the Blue Angel for Best Director at the Art Film Fest Kosice
  • PLEASURE by Ninja Thyberg, co-producer: EAVE graduate Leontine Petit was awarded Best Film and Best Actress (Sofia Kappel)
  • SWEAT by Magnus von Horn, producer: EAVE graduate Mariusz Wlodarski received a Special Mention



  • THE FIRST 54 YEARS by Avi Mograbi, producers: EAVE graduates Elina Pohjola, Leila Lyytikäinen won the My Generation Award at the International Documentary Film Festival ZagrebDox
  • WAKE UP ON MARS by Dea Gjinovci, producer: EAVE+ and PUENTES graduate Britta Rindelaub received a Special Mention of the Young Jury



  • FLEE by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, producers: EAVE graduates Monica Hellstrøm, Signe Byrge Sørensen won Best Film and the Audience Award at the Biografilm Festival Bologna.
  • THE MOLE AGENT by PUENTES graduate Maite Alberdi, co-producers: EAVE graduates Fleur Knopperts, Denis Vaslin, Ingmar Trost won the “Bring The Change” award.


Crossing Europe Linz

Three awards for EAVE graduates at Crossing Europe Linz:

  • APPLES by Christos Nikou, producer: B’EST graduate Ales Pavlis, co-producer: EAVE graduate Mariusz Wlodarski associate producer: EAVE+ graduate Antoine Simkine won the Audience Award - Best Fiction Film
  • HER MOTHERS by Asia Der, Sari Haragonics, producer: EAVE graduate Sara Laszlo won the Social Awareness Award - Best Documentary
  • FORCE OF HABIT by Reetta Aalto, Alli Haapasalo, Anna Paavilainen, Kirsikka Saari, Miia Tervo, Elli Toivoniemi, Jenni Toivoniemi, producer: EAVE graduate and Finnish National Coordinatior Elli Toivoniemi won the YAAAS! – Youth Jury Award


Polish Film Awards

  • I NEVER CRY by Piotr Domalewski, producer: EAVE graduate Jan Kwiecinski won Best Cinematography and Best Supporting Actress (Kinga Preis) at the Polish Film Awards.
  • NEVER GONNA SNOW AGAIN by Malgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert, producer: EAVE graduate Mariusz Wlodarski was awarded Best Cinematography (ex aequo).


European Children’s Film Association

  • MARONA’S FANTASTIC TALE, produced and directed by EAVE graduate Anca Damian, co-producer: EAVE graduate Tomas Leyers was awarded Best European Children’s Film of the Year. Instead of during the Berlinale, the annual awards ceremony of the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) took place at the Zlin Film Festival this year. The award aims to shine a spotlight on European children’s films and call attention to quality movies for a young audience.



  • NASIR by Arun Karthick, producers: EAVE graduates Mathivanan Rajendran, Reinier Selen was awarded the Grand Prix 2020 for Best Indian Feature Film of 2020 by FIPRESCI India.


Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival 

  • EAVE project SPACEBOY by Olivier Pairoux, producer: EAVE graduate Annabella Nezri, co-producer: EAVE graduate Katleen Goossens was awarded Best Film in the Teen Screen Competition at Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival in Ukraine.


Hungarian Motion Picture Awards

  • NATURAL LIGHT by Dénes Nagy, producer: EAVE graduate Sára László, co-producers: EAVE graduate Inese Boka-Grube, EAVE graduate and Hungarian National Coordinator Viktoria Petranyi, EAVE participant and EAVE+ graduate Gints Grube was awarded Best Scriptwriter and Best Costume Design at the Hungarian Motion Picture Awards.


Short shorts Film Festival & Asia

  • MISSION: HEBRON by Ronda Segal, producer: EAVE graduate Kobi Mizrahi wins Oscar qualifying award for best Documentary short film at Short Shorts film Festival & Asia


PRIX Italia

  • SWAN LAKE BATH BALLET  by Corey Baker, producer: EAVE graduate Anne Beresford won the Web Fiction award at Prix Italia

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
