  • LE FAUX SOIR by Michael R Roskam, producer: EAVE+ graduate Jean-Yves Roubin is in production. The film looks back on one of the most audacious acts of resistance in Belgium during the Second World War: the publication of a fake edition of the newspaper Le Soir, a satirical pastiche which openly ridiculed the Nazi occupiers. It’s a historical subject, but it’s more topical than ever given that freedom of expression, the independence of the press and the flood of fake news are currently on many people’s minds. "During the Nazi invasion of Belgium, on 10 May 1940 the press was shut down and placed under occupier control. In Brussels, this impacted the most-read paper in the country, Le Soir. Its young owner, Marie-Thérèse Rossel, refused to work under German censorship and went into exile with her family in France. Hijacked by the Nazis, Le Soir became a propaganda tool for Hitler and the Gestapo. The film follows in the footsteps of a group of resistance fighters who risked their lives to carry out one of the most courageous acts in the history of the underground press," explained the director. Shooting kicked off on 23 September and will continue until 10 December, primarily in Brussels but also in Ghent and Mons, with some shooting taking place in France. LE FAUX SOIR is being produced by Cassandre Warnauts and Jean-Yves Roubin on behalf of Frakas Productions (Belgium), in co-production with Rectangle Productions/Goodfellas (Alice Girard and Vincent Maraval) and Harbor Men Pictures (belonging to Michaël R Roskam), in association with Anonymous Federation and Rossel (Bernard Marchant). The feature is co-produced by RTL, Proximus, BeTV and Orange. It enjoys support from the Wallonia Brussels Federation Film and Audiovisual Centre, the Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds, Eurimages, the Brussels-Capitale region, Wallimage, Screen Flanders, and Tax Shelter.

  • COWGIRL by Michal Blasko, producer: EAVE graduate Jakub Viktorin has almost completed the shooting. The film tells the story of 14-year-old Barbora, a teenager devoted to horseback riding, who is raised by her widowed father, a respected local police officer. Barbora is immersed in the world of so-called horse cutting, a sport inspired by the Western tradition, and shares a deep bond with her horse, Indy. This sport is not just a leisure activity but a way of life shaped by discipline, care, and emotional connection. “The production started on 24 July 2025 and it’s almost completed. Two extra days of shooting are planned in September, but we already started the editing in Budapest. We would like to add that the story itself unfolds against the backdrop of the beautiful Liptov nature, which in the film almost appears as another character,” producer Jakub Viktorín said. Viktorín is producing through Slovakia’s nutprodukcia in co-production with Tomas Hruby through nutprodukce (Czech Republic) and Gabor Osvath through Hungary’s Filmfabriq. The movie is backed by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, Creative Europe - MEDIA, the Czech Film Fund, and the National Film Institute – Hungary.

  • WHO ARE WE by Miroslav Terzic, producer: EAVE graduate Snezana van Houwelingen, co-producers: EAVE graduates Ankica Juric Tilic and Paul Thiltges is in post-production. The film explores the world of teenagers and the dynamics of peer violence. During a school trip, second-year high school students, collectively responsible for the bullying of their classmate Andrija, who committed suicide, must face the consequences of their actions. “In one way or another, all of us have encountered this topic during our childhood, whether directly or indirectly. For me, it became clear that it was time to make a film about it. Still, the story goes beyond the boundaries of a classroom or the frame of peer violence. As we all witness daily, we live in a profoundly violent society. What happens to our children is not an isolated phenomenon, it is a reflection of the reality we all share”, Miroslav Terzic said. The film is produced by Snežana van Houwelingen and Branislav Trifunovic of Serbia’s This and That Productions in co-production with Luxembourg’s Paul Thiltges Distribution, Italy’s Nightswim, Bulgaria’s Invictus, and Croatia’s Kinorama. Film Center Serbia, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Luxembourg Film Fund, MIC Italian Ministry of Culture, the Bulgarian National Film Center, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, and Creative Europe –MEDIA are backing the project.

Rio, a quiet young man from a village in central Istria in Croatia, makes a living as a kitchen helper in a hotel resort on the Adriatic coast, committing occasional petty thefts from tourists. She suggests joining forces and stealing from her wealthy customers in the hotel, sharing the profits.
