B`EST project OTAR’S DEATH by Ioseb Bliadze, producer: EAVE graduate Eva Blondiau is in post-production. The film tells the story of Keti and her son Nika, who find themselves in a difficult situation when Nika hits an old man in a car accident. The victim’s family promise to refrain from pressing charges against Nika if he compensates their loss in cash. Within a single day Keti has to raise a large amount of money to prevent her son Nika from being imprisoned. An unexpected turn gives the drama a tragicomical air. OTAR’S DEATH is produced by Eva Blondiau through Georgia’s MAISIS PERI in co-production with Color Of May from Germany, Studio Artizm from Georgia and M-Films from Lithuania. The film has received funding from the Georgian National Film Center, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the Lithuanian Film Centre. Principal photography took place in Tbilisi and in the village of Lamovani (Dusheti).
www.colorofmay.com THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE by Dariusz Jablonski, producers: EAVE+ graduate Violetta Kaminska and EAVE graduate Izabela Wojcik is in post-production. The crime thriller series written by Maciej Maciejewski is the first international drama series originated, shot and made as a co-production between three Eastern European countries (Poland, Czech Republic and Ukraine). The plot follows a crime investigation in three post-communist cities: Warsaw, Prague, Odessa, where – on the same day in autumn – parts of young females’ bodies are found. Police investigators from the Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic need to overcome their differences in order to partner in a cross-border inquiry. The trail leads to shady businessmen, lawyers for sale, corrupt politicians, professional killers and traces of the common past. Poland’s Apple Film produces in co-production with Canal+Poland, the Czech Television and Star Media Ukraine.
www.applefilm.pl LOVE SARAH by Eliza Schroeder, producer: EAVE graduate Rajita Shah is now in post-production. The film is about a young woman who enlists the help of her mother’s best friend and her eccentric estranged grandmother to fulfil her late mother’s dream of opening a bakery in Notting Hill. It is now shooting in London. Love Sarah is a UK-German co-production between Rajita Shah of Miraj Films, Rainstar Productions and Neopol Films. UK sales outfit Film Seekers has international rights.
