European Producers Workshop 1 Newsletter
As every year, the annual launch of the EAVE European Producers Workshop takes place in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in partnership with the Film Fund Luxembourg. For this year's workshop 1 during March, 14 – 21 in the Hilton Hotel, we are delighted to welcome 52 producers from 32 countries bringing 34 documentary and feature projects to work on throughout the year.
The 2011 EAVE pedagogical team is composed of EAVE Head of Studies Alan Fountain (UK), the four group leaders (all active, experienced producers), Roshanak Behesht Nedjad (Flying Moon, DE), Lise Lense-Møller (Magic Hour Films, DK), Danijel Hocevar (emotionfilm, SI), Jani Thiltges (Samsa Film, LU); the script consultants Clare Downs (Forever Films, UK), Jacques Akchoti (FR), Martin Daniel (USA), and documentary expert Sylvia Stevens (Faction Films, UK). They are supported by the specialized experts for Pitching: Sibylle Kurz (DE), Finance: Linda Beath (Ideal Filmworks, IT), Marketing: Sarah Calderon (Karma Films, ES) and Legal Issues: Else Helland (Johan Schlüter law firm, DK), who share their expertise in plenary and group work sessions and individual meetings with the EAVE participants.
Individual meetings with the script analysts, screenings and special sessions dedicated to fiction and documentary film development as well as co-producing with Luxembourg will complement the schedule:
French producer and EAVE group leader Patrick Sobelman (Agat Films / Ex Nihilo) will give a presentation addressing the various questions raised in the process of developing feature films.
Danish producer and EAVE group leader Lise Lense-Møller (Magic Hour Films) will present the specific questions related to the development of documentaries.
CEO of Luxembourg Film Fund Guy Daleiden and Luxembourgish producer and EAVE group leader Jani Thiltges will give the participants an overview of the possibilities of co-producing with Luxembourg.
All plenary sessions are open for interested local professionals. For the detailed programme, please contact Workshop Manager Satu Elo satu@eave.org.
