Call for projects The Arc 1950 Coproduction Village

10 - 17 December 2011

Dear EAVE Producers,

we would like to inform you about the upcoming call for applications of  the Arc 1950 Coproduction Village.

In two editions, Les Arcs European Film Festival has become a major event  within the French and European film festivals scene.  In addition to a quality selection of around 60 European feature films, the festival will be organizing for its 3rd edition, the call for projects for the Arc 1950 Coproduction Village.

CONCEPT
During 4 days, from the 10th to the 13th December,  the Arc 1950 Coproduction Village aims to welcome 20 European film projects.

The projects’ producers will be invited to the festival and will have the opportunity to meet professionnels during one-to-one meetings with:

- potential coproducers

- French and European distributors

- sales agents

- regional funds

- banks, equity partners, specialists of tax credit systems in Europe…

- and of course all the professionals that come to the festival to present a film.  Last year, there were more than 800 professionals.

Debates and case studies are also organized on production and distribution issues in  Europe.

Italy will be the country honoured this year by Les Arcs European Film Festival, so the  Arc 1950 Coproduction Village will be focusing on italian financing systems.

NEW THIS YEAR:
the Work in Progress: a selection of 5 films in post-production, looking for financiers, distributors or a sales agent, will be screened to professionals.

Transmedia meeting: a round-table will be organized in partnership with Europa Distribution. Inter-professional meetings will also be set up with other areas (web, video-games…)

The Arc 1950 Coproduction Village aims to be more than just a series of professional meetings, but also a place to develop informal relationships, in a casual atmosphere, in a unique place.Sports sessions (European Cinema Ski Cup, snowshoeing and « pitches »on chairlifts), lunches and cocktails will rythme these 4 days.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- the project must be a feature film (fiction, animation or documentary) initiated in Europe, in development or in post-production, minimum length of  75 minutes
-  the director needs to be  european and to have already directed films (feature films or distinguished short films)
- the producer(s) must be looking for additional sources of financing and/or european coproducer(s).
