NEW IMPROVED HANDS-ON FORMAT!!

Participants can now also apply with a project (documentary / fiction feature / transmedia) in any stage of development – from early development to postproduction.

In group work sessions led by the experts, the participants (with and without projects) will work together on these projects, analyzing the sales and marketing potential and developing unique and innovative strategies for marketing, sales  and audience engagement for their films.

During the workshop, a trailer for one of the selected projects will be edited under the guidance of the EAVE experts.

The workshop consists of group work, plenary sessions in a small group (max 30 participants), as well as private tutorials with the experts. It is targeted at producers wishing to gain a greater understanding of the marketing process both in broad terms and for individual films which in turn results in creating a successful company, as well as for people working in sales, distribution and marketing departments.  We also appreciate applications from other professionals in the industry (e.g. regional and national funding institutions) and from relevant trainers and consultants. Applicants are welcome to apply with or without a project (any stage of development and genre).

The topics covered include introduction to marketing and acquisitions, hands-on tips and tools for business to business (b2b) and business to consumer (b2c) marketing as well as audience design, mini case studies on theproducer’s point of view to marketing, an overview on the international sales process as well as how to work with festivals and publicity, an introduction to the legal aspects of sales and distribution agreements, an insight into the marketing from the distributor’ point of view, tools and ideas for online marketing and VoD, as well as for working with trailers and showreels.

The Film Marketing Workshop is led by Head of Studies Pim Hermeling (Wild Bunch Benelux Distribution), accompanied by, among others, trailer editor Fraser Bensted (Picture Production Company), marketing consultant Sarah Calderon(The Film Agency), interactive and social media consultant Dan Light (Glass Eye), producer Frans van Gestel (Topkapi Films), entertainment lawyer Joris Van Wijk (JC Van Wijk) and sales agent Susan Wendt (TrustNordisk).
