4 Main Awards for EAVE project DUST CLOTH in Istanbul
Awards April 2016
- ROOM by Lenny Abrahamson, producer: EAVE graduate Ed Guiney swept the IFTA Awards for Film and Drama in Dublin, winning seven trophies. ROOM was awarded best film, best director, best screenplay, best score and best editing. It also picked up awards for best sound and best international actress.
- EAVE project DUST CLOTH by Ahu Öztürk, producer: EAVE graduate Nesra Gürbüz won the main awards at the 35th Istanbul Film Festival. It collected the Golden Tulip for Best Film in the national competition, as well as Best Actress, Best Screenplay and the Cineuropa Award.
- THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER by Brady Corbet, co-producer: EAVE graduate and Swedish National Coordinator Helena Danielsson received the Special Jury Prize in the international competition.
- THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN, directed and produced by EAVE graduate Anca Damian, co-producers: EAVE graduate Benedicte Thomas and EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille won the new Eurimages Audentia Award, aimed at promoting female directors.
- The FIPRESCI Awards went to MOTHERLAND by Senem Tüzen, producer: EAVE graduate Olena Yershova and ALL OF A SUDDEN by Asli Özge, co-producer: EAVE graduate Laurette Schillings.
The Istanbul Film Festival's industry section, Meetings on the Bridge, has also announced the winners:
- LETTER OF ASHES by Lusin Dink, producer: EAVE graduate Emine Yildirim won the MFI Script and Development Workshop Award.
- MR. GAY SYRIA by Ayse Toprak, co-producer: EAVE+ graduate Antoine Simkine received the Baska Sinema Award.
- PATONG GIRL by Susanna Salonen, co-producer: EAVE graduate Tom Waller won Germany's Grimme-Preis 2016.
- KATER (TOMCAT) by Händl Klaus, producer: EAVE graduate Antonin Svoboda won the Firebird Award, the top prize in the Young Filmmakers’ Competition at the Hong Kong International Film Festival.
The Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris announced this year’s winners.
- I, OLGA HEPNAROVA by Petr Kazda, Tomas Weinreb, co-producer: EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille won Best Film.
- A GOOD WIFE by Mirjana Karanovic producers: EAVE graduates Snežana Penev and Sinisa Juricic won the CICAE Award.
- OUR EVERYDAY LIFE by Ines Tanovic, producer: EAVE graduate Zdenka Gold was awarded Best Actor.
- UNDER THE SUN by Vitaly Mansky, co-producer: EAVE graduate Simone Baumann won Best Film in the Baltic Gaze competition.
- THE COMMUNE by Thomas Vinterberg, co-producer: EAVE graduate Laurette Schillings won Best Actress in the Baltic Gaze competition.
- The 2016 Norwegian Film Criitics Award for last year's best Norwegian feature-length film went to LOUDER THAN BOMBS by Joachim Trier, executive producer: EAVE graduate Sigve Endresen. The award for Best Artistic Contribution in a non-directing discipline went to Olivier Bugge Coutté for the editing of LOUDER THAN BOMBS.
- THE ARDENNES by Robin Pront, producer: EAVE graduate Peter Bouckaert won the Young Blood competition of the Beaune International Thriller Film Festival.
- DER STAAT GEGEN FRITZ BAUER by Lars Kraume, co-producer: EAVE graduate Ann Carolin Renninger received the Special Police Jury Prize.

- ALOYS by Tobias Nölle, producers: EAVE+ graduate Christof Neracher and EAVE graduate and French National Coordinator Jean des Forêts has won the Crystal Larch at the third edition of the Saas-Fee Filmfest.
- LE TOUT NOUVEAU TESTAMENT by Jaco Van Dormael, producers: EAVE graduate Paul Thiltges and EAVE graduate and Luxembourgish National Coordinator David Grumbach won Best Screenplay at the Dublin International Film Festival.
- INTERRUPTION by Yorgos Zois, producers: EAVE graduates Maria Dandraki, Sinisa Juricic was awarded Best Newcomer at the Hellenic Film Academy Awards.
- EROTICA, EXOTICA, ETC. by Evangelia Kranioti, producer: EAVE graduate Charlotte Vincent won Best Documentary.
- ONE OF US by Stephan Richter, producer: EAVE graduate Arash T. Riahi won the ROMY Award, the Austrian Film Award in the category Best Directing.
