15 awards for EAVE graduates in Cannes

EAVE is proud to announce that graduates of its producer training programmes claimed 15 main awards across all major sections of the 79th Cannes Film Festival. Highlights include the Palme d'Or for Fjörd (producers Dyveke Bjørkly Graver, Andrea Berentsen Ottmar; co-producers Katrin Pors, Jussi Rantamäki), the Caméra d'Or for Ben'imana (producers Samantha Biffot, Ingrid Lill Hogtun), and prizes spanning Competition, Un Certain Regard, Critics' Week, and the Immersive Competition.

This exceptional result stands as a testament to EAVE's nearly four-decade commitment to developing the producers who shape the future of European and international cinema.

Competition

  • FJÖRD by Cristian Mungiu, producers: EAVE graduates Dyveke Bjørkly Graver, Andrea Berentsen Ottmar, co-producers: EAVE graduates Katrin Pors, Jussi Rantamäki, won the main prize of the Cannes Film Festival, the Palme d’Or
  • FATHERLAND by Pawel Pawlikowski, producer: FFF graduate Lorenzo Gangarossa won Best Director (Pawel Pawlikowski)
  • THE DREAMED ADVENTURE by Valeska Grisebach, producer: EAVE graduate Jonas Dornbach, was awarded the Jury Prize
  • ALL OF A SUDDEN by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, producer: EAVE+ graduate Bettina Brokemper won Best Actress (Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto)
  • COWARD by Lukas Dhont, co-producers: EAVE graduates Jacques-Henri Bronckart and Laurette Schillings, EAVE+ graduate Frans van Gestel, won Best Actor (Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne)
  • BEN’IMANA by Marie-Clémentine Dusabejambo, producer: EAVE graduate Samantha Biffot, co-producer: EAVE graduate Ingrid Lill Hogtun, won the Caméra d'Or

Un Certain Regard

  • EVERYTIME by Sandra Wollner, producers: EAVE and EAVE SLATE graduate David Bohun, MW graduate Camille Chanel, was awarded the Un Certain Regard Prize
  • ELEPHANTS IN THE FOG by Abinash Bikram Shah, producers: PUENTES, EAVE+ and EAVE SLATE graduate Michael Henrichs, EAVE, PUENTES, EAVE+ and EAVE SLATE graduate Leonardo Mecchi, National Coordinator Latin America Tatiana Leite received the Jury Prize
  • CONGO BOY by Rafiki Fariala, co-producer: EAVE graduate Caroline Nataf won Best Actor (Bradley Fiomona Dembeasset)
  • FOREVER YOUR MATERNAL ANIMAL by Valentina Maurel, producer: EAVE graduate Benoit Roland, co-producer: PUENTES graduate Nicolás Celis López, won Best Actress (Marina de Tavira, Daniela Marín Navarro, Mariangel Villegas)

Critics’ Week

  • A GIRL UNKNOWN  by ZOU Jing, producer: EAVE graduate and group leader Didar Domehri, was awarded the Distribution Award
  • DUA by Blerta Basholli, producers: EAVE graduate Valon Bajgora, PUENTES graduate Britta Rindelaub, EAVE graduate Thomas Reichlin, won the SACD Award
  • SKINNY BOOTS by Romain F. Dubois, executive producer: EAVE graduate Julie Groleau won the Short Film Prize

Immersive Competition

  • KATABASIS by Ugo Arsac, producer: TTB graduate Guillaume de la Boulaye won Best Immersive Work

Other Awards

  • REHEARSALS OF A REVOLUTION by Pegah Ahangarani, producer: EAVE graduate Adrià Monés won the Golden Eye for the Best Documentary at the Croisette

  • GAZA SUNBIRDS by Flavia Cappellini, producers: MW graduate Kristian van der Heyden and EAVE participant May Jabareen, won the Think-Film Impact Award

Nordic NEST

All projects are co-produced by Nordic and German partners and will receive additional funding of up to €60,000 per project for the script development phase.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
