Arben Zharku

Biography

Film Producer and Executive based in the Netherlands, with over 20 years of experience in the film industry. He played a key role in the global emergence of Kosovo’s film sector during his tenure at the Kosovo Cinematography Center, contributing to the “Kosovo New Wave.”He has supported and elevated internationally acclaimed films such as Hive, Babai, Exile, Looking for Venera, Vera Dreams of the Sea, Zana, Cold November, The Hill Where Lionesses Roar, Displaced, and Shok, recognized at major international film festivals. He was previously Manager of the Multimedia Center and Director of the SKENA UP International Film Festival (2003–2013). A strong advocate for European cinema, he is a member of the European Film Academy and EAVE, and has served on the Board of Directors of European Film Promotion, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and promoting diverse voices in global cinema.
