  • REINE MÈRE by Manele Labidi, co-producer: EAVE+ graduate Jean-Yves Roubin is in production. Blending social chronicle and bittersweet comedy, the film paints the portrait of a Tunisian family living in France in the early 1990s  and uses comedy to explore questions such as the search for identity, generational conflicts and latent racism in France. Penned by the director, the story revolves around Amel and his family who learn, one day, that their landlord wishes to take back his apartment within a few months’ time. As his eldest daughter Mouna starts to have visions of Charles Martel and their application for a new socially-funded home drags on, Amel has no other choice but to reinvent himself… REINE MÈRE is produced by Jean-Christophe Reymond on behalf of Kazak Productions, in co-production with Arte France Cinéma, and by Belgium’s Frakas Productions. Pre-purchased by Arte, Canal+, Amazon Prime Video, RTBF and Proximus, the feature film is likewise supported by the Ile-de-France and Grand Est regions, the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

  • TOTALLY BOSS by Ingomar Vihmar, producer: EAVE graduate Esko Rips is shooting. The story: Oliver and Sass, who are 13 years old, create a nose-shaped glasses holder in their handicraft class, which unexpectedly catches the interest of a mysterious big investor. At the same time, Oliver's recently laid-off father is struggling to find a new job. As the boys are too young to run a business independently, they come up with the plan to hire Oliver's father to manage their company and thus save his parents' troubled marriage. “The family comedy tells the story of relationships between children and parents from a contemporary and fresh perspective, raising the question of what a family needs in order to be happy? Throughout the film, the roles mix and transform, and we see children behaving like adults and parents behaving like children”, Ingomar Vihmar said.
