Venice International Film Festival

12 awards for EAVE graduates at the Venice International Film Festival:

  • PUENTES project BLANQUITA by Fernando Guzzoni, producer: PUENTES, EAVE + and MW graduate Giancarlo Nasi, sales: EAVE graduate Jan Naszewski NEW EUROPE FILM SALES won Best Screenplay at Orizzonti
  • INTERCHANGE project NEZOUH by Soudade Kaadan, producers: Interchange graduates Amira Kaadan and Soudade Kaadan won the Audience Award at Orizzonti Extra and the Lanterna Magica Award
  • TTB PROJECT AUTOBIOGRAPHY by Makbul Mubarak, producer: EAVE participant and TTB graduate Yulia Evina Bhara received the FIPRESCI Award for Best Film from Orizzonti and the International Film Critics’ Week
  • DOGBORN by Isabella Carbonell, producer: EAVE graduate David Herdies won the Authors Under 40 Award – In Memory of Valentina Pedicini
  • EAVE project ORDINARY FAILURES by Cristina Grosan, producer: EAVE graduate Marek Novak, co-producer: EAVE graduate Marica Stocchi won Best Director at the Authors Under 40 Award – In Memory of Valentina Pedicini
  • CHIARA by Susanna Nicchiarelli, producer: Interchange graduate Marta Donzelli, got the SIGNIS award, the Sorriso Diverso Venezia Award for Best Italian Film, NuovoImaie Talent Award for Best New Young Actress, La Pellicola d'Oro Award for Best Costume Tailoring and the Lizzani Award – ANAC (Associazione Nazionale Autori Cinematografici)
  • EISMAYER by David Wagner, producers: EAVE graduates Arash T. Riahi, Sabine Gruber was awarded the Grand Prize at the International Film Critics’ Week
  • MARGINI by Niccolo Falsetti, producers: EAVE graduate Alessandro Amato, EAVE participant Luigi Chimienti; won THE FILM CLUB Audience Award 
  • ANHELL69 by Theo Montoya, producer: EAVE participant Maximilan Haslberger, won the Mario Serandrei – Hotel Saturnia Award for best technical contribution, the Verona Film Club Award for most innovative film, and the Jury Special Mention at the International Film Critics’ Week
  • EAVE and TTB PROJECT TO THE NORTH by Mihai Mincan, producer: EAVE and TTB graduate Radu Stancu, co-producers: EAVE and TTB graduate Konstantinos Vassilaros, EAVE graduate Mikulas Novotny, was awarded the Premio Bisato d’Oro 2022 – Best Movie
  • MUSIC FOR BLACK PIGEONS by Jørgen Let and Andreas Koefoed, producer: EAVE graduate Emile Hertling Péronard, has won the MUSA Cinema & Arts award.

San Sebastian Film Festival

EAVE graduates scoop numerous awards at the San Sebastian Film Festival:

  • THE KINGS OF THE WORLD by Laura Mora, producer: EAVE graduate Yolanda Torres, won the Golden Shell for Best Film
  • LA MATERNAL by Pilar Palomero, producer: EAVE+ graduate Valérie Delpierre, won the Silver Shell for Best Lead Performance
  • THE SUBSTITUTE by Diego Lerman, co-producers: Interchange graduate Marta Donzelli, PUENTES graduate Nicolas Celis, EAVE graduate Dan Wechsler, was awarded the Silver Shell for Best Supporting Performance
  • PORNOMELANCHOLIA by Manuel Abramovich, producer: EAVE graduates Gema Juarez Allen, Rachel Daisy Ellis, EAVE+ graduate Martha Orozco, won Best Cinematography (Manuel Abramovich) at Horizontes Latinos
  • RUNNER by Marian Mathias, producer: PUENTES graduate Joy Jorgensen won the Special jury prize
  • TENGO SUENOS ELECTRICOS by Valentina Maurel, producer: EAVE graduate Benoît Roland, was awarded the Horizontes Award
  • GODLAND by Hlynur Palmason, producers: EAVE graduate Katrin Pors, TTB graduate Mikkel Jersin, EAVE graduate Anton Mani Svansson, co-producer: EAVE graduate and group leader Didar Domehri, won the Zabaltegi-Tabakalera Award
  • TORI AND LOKITA by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, co-producer: EAVE graduate Peter Bouckaert won the Agenda 2030 Euskadi Basque Country Award
  • TOBACCO BARNS by Rocío Mesa, producer: EAVE graduate Olmo Figueredo González-Quevedo won the Dunia Ayaso Award
  • THE YELLOW CEILING by Isabel Coixet, producer: EAVE graduate Carla Sospedra, won 2 awards: the RTVE - ANOTHER LOOK AWARD and the Dunia Ayaso Award Special Mention.

Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum

  • THE FIRE DOLL by Niles Atallah, producer: PUENTES graduate Catalina Vergara, won the Film Center Serbia Award
  • HESITATION WOUND by Selman Nacar, co-Producers: EAVE graduates Oana Giurgiu, Guillaume de Seille, won the WIP Europa Industry Award + WIP Europa Award
  • EL CASTILLO by Martin Benchimol, producer: EAVE graduate Gema Juarez Allen, won the WIP Latam Industry Award and Egeda Platino Industria Award for Best WIP Latam
  • A HOUSE IN THE COUNTRY by Davi Pretto, producer: PUENTES graduate Georgina Baisch, received the WIP Latam Projeto Paradiso Second Award.

  • TTB project LEONOR WILL NEVER DIE by Martika Ramirez Escobar, producer: TTB graduate Monster Jimenez won the Amplify Voices Award.

Jury’s statement: “Leonor Will Never Die, for its original voice, made by a fearless filmmaker who knows how to bring the fun and an incredible lead performance. This film is truly one of one.”

Four main awards for EAVE graduates at the Filmkunstmesse Leipzig:

  • BETTINA by Lutz Pehnert, producer: EAVE graduate Susann Schimk, was awarded Best Documentary

Gdynia Film Festival

  • Two awards for THE SILENT TWINS by Agnieszka Smoczynska, executive producer: EAVE graduate Beata Rzezniczek, at the Polish Film Festival Gdynia: the film scooped the Golden Lion for Best Film and Best Music.
  • THE HATCHER by Grzegorz Molda, producer: EAVE graduate Izabela Igel, received the main prize for the most ecological-friendly production at the Gdynia Film Festiwal. It is the very first edition of the award.

  • THE EIGHT MOUNTAINS by Charlotte Vandermeersch, Felix Van Groeningen, producer: EAVE graduate Hans Everaert, has won the International Cinematographers' Film Festival Manaki Brothers. Cinematographer Ruben Impens received the Golden Camera 300.

  • Two Awards at the Batumi International Festival Georgia for ROOM OF MY OWN by Ioseb Bliadze, producer: EAVE graduate Eva Blondiau: the film was awarded Best Actress (Mariam Khundadze) and a Jury Special Mention.

Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival

  • VESPER by Kristina Buozyte, Bruno Samper, co-producer: EAVE graduate Benoît Roland, won the Golden Raven for Best Film in the International Competition of the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF).
  • PIGGY by Carlota Pereda, producer: EAVE graduate Merry Colomer wins the Critics Award.

IGRIC Awards

  • 107 MOTHERS by Peter Kerekes, producer: EAVE graduate Katarina Tomkova, co-producer: EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny, was awarded the Main Prize for Directing and the Special Prize for Creativity at the IGRIC Awards, the oldest film prizes in Slovakia and one of the two important national film awards in the country.

European Producers Club Pitch Prize

  • EAVE graduate and Romanian National coordinator Ada Solomon and EAVE graduate Olena Yershova, have won the inaugural Netflix, European Producers Club Pitch Prize. The pitch contest, set up by the EPC and Netflix with backing from Netflix’s Fund for Creative Equity, aims to build new opportunities for underrepresented communities within the entertainment industry.

Coprocity Development Award

  • THE SWEDISH TORPEDO by Frida Kempff, producer: EAVE graduate David Herdies has won the Coprocity Development Award. Initiated by the professional online platform Coprocity, working in partnership with 14 co-production markets and Cineuropa, the first ever Coprocity Development Prize has been awarded ex-aequo to THE MOUNTAIN BRIDE by Maura Delpero for her project The Mountain Bride and Frida Kempff‘s THE SWEDISH TORPEDO.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
