Special offer for German producers from the regions of MDM Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-HolsteinDeadline for applications: September 20, 2019
On October 30th, 2019 from 9.00-19.00 - the EAVE Producers Workshop in cooperation with MIDPOINT TV Launch, Series Mania, Torino SeriesLab and DOK Leipzig, and supported by MDM Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, is offering a full day on Producing for the Platforms during the third EAVE workshop in Leipzig.
The goal of the day is to provide producers with 'a general overview’ of the platforms including the opportunities and challenges they bring to the business. To provide basic insights into working with serial content vis-à-vis e.g. feature films in terms of production, financing and development (showrunner principle, writers’ room). To meet representatives from (at least one of) the main platforms and get introduced to their point of view, plans, preferences and thinking re. working with independent producers, both in terms of content and process. To offer ‘hands-on’ information and experience from the producer’s perspective through a fiction and a documentary case study. And to share information on viewer patterns, contractual trends and other relevant issues.
The confirmed speakers include Linda Beath (Ideal Filmworks IT), Nicola de Angelis - Case study of NETFLIX series BABY (Fabula Pictures, IT), David Keitsch (Komplizen Film, DE), Timo Gössler (DE), Nicola Lusuardi (IT), Xavier Rambert (Eurodata, FR), Luis Singer (StickUp Filmproduktion, DE) and Katarina Tomkova (MIDPOINT, CZ).
The day will end with a dinner and networking between all who attend: The 51 EAVE producers from 29 countries, the 30 producers selected from Germany – 10 from each of the 3 regions mentioned – who will be invited, and all the experts participating both in the Platform Day and the EAVE Producers Workshop.
For those who wish to arrive on the 29th, DOK Leipzig will invite everybody to take part in a party on the 29th in the evening. DOK Leipzig will also offer for all invited German producers a free accreditation for DOK Leipzig (October 28 – November 3, 2019).
You will have to apply to attend the Platform Day and there will be a selection process among the applicants. The deadline for applications is September 20, and you can download the application form here.
All sessions will be in English.
