Busan International Film Festival: Special offer for EAVE producers

press release

Dear EAVE Producers,

We are happy to announce that thanks to the partnership between Asian Film Market, Asian Project Market and EAVE Ties That Bind, 5 European EAVE producers will be invited to join the 22nd Asian Project Market in the framework of the 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF, October 3 – 12).

The invitations will be granted only to delegates looking to contribute to the selected projects of APM & E-IP Market. These participants should be looking for new Asian projects to co-produce or co-finance and should not mainly aim to present their own projects in Busan. Applying production companies or producers must have completed at least one international co-production in the past three years.

Each producer will be able to scout the best new Asian projects in development at the APM, network with more than 1.500 film professionals from all over the world and attend all festival screenings. The invitation by Asian Project Market covers 4 hotel nights (Oct. 5-9) plus a discounted accreditation for 100 US$.

The Asian Project Market (APM, October 6 - 8) is a co-production platform that offers filmmakers of official APM projects the opportunity to meet international leading film professionals including financiers, co-producers, or sales agents. In 2018, 29 projects were presented in more than 700 scheduled meetings.

Established in 2006, Asian Film Market (October 5 – 8) serves as a total film market covering all stages of film industry from pre-production to film sales. Since 2015, Entertainment Intellectual Property (E-IP) Market, a marketplace for film-adaptable original contents and APM are held together at the same venue of BEXCO. In 2018, a total of 1,737 professionals of 911 enterprises from 54 countries participated and actively engaged in production, investment, imports, exports and publication rights businesses. And it hosted 171 companies from 23 countries with 73 sales booths.

During the three days of the APM, E-IP Market and four days of Asian Film Market, the invited producers will be able to join a full programme curated by EAVE in collaboration with European Film Promotion, including a series of master classes, plenary sessions and Asia/Europe co-production case studies.

Through a special Ties That Bind stand, we will provide a hub for business meetings exclusively dedicated to the invited producers, who are actively looking for co-producing and co-financing partners from Asia.

On top of this, we offer a tailor made programme of round tables involving international key decision makers attending the Asian Film Market.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
