Biography

Rafa Alberola is Head of Industry at ECAM (Madrid Film School) and leads La Incubadora, a feature film development program at ECAM that, since 2018, has worked to promote and support emerging talent. Projects such as O corno by Jaione Camborda, Cinco lobitos by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, and 20,000 Species of Bees by Estibaliz Urresola have been developed through La Incubadora. Rafa Alberola is also a producer and filmmaker. He has directed the short films Septiembre (2015), Arenal (2019), and En la noche caminamos solos (At Night We Walk Alone, 2024), as well as the medium-length film Elogio del Horizonte (Praise of the Horizon, 2023). He is the screenwriter and producer of short films such as Pueblo (Elena López Riera, 2015) and of feature films like Los inocentes (The Blameless, Guillermo Benet, 2020), Los mutantes (Gabriel Azorín, 2016), and Una vez fuimos salvajes (Once We Were Wild, Carmen Bellas, 2017). He is the founder of the production company Vermut Films, together with director Guillermo Benet.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
