Biography

Founder of Doha Palestine Cinema Festival and producer, Rafia Hussain Oraidi is most known for award-winning ROSHMIA, her current project ‘Palestine 87’ was chosen by Jordan’s RFC to participate in Robert Bosch’s ‘Follow The Nile’ and was further developed in Nairobi, Tunis and Berlin. Rafia’s production career began in 2008 with BBC World and has been collaborating with Doha Film Institute, Qatar Museums and CBS News since 2011. Rafia's career in production began in 2008 with BBC World's 'The Doha Debates', Qatar's first free speech forum chaired by renowned Tim Sebastian. Besides her collaboration with CBS News as field producer, she has been collaborating with the Doha Film Institute since 2011 as producer and production manager to various projects, one of which is 'The Oral History', commissioned by The National Museum capturing the earliest memories of people in Qatar. In parallel to her collaboration with DFI, Rafia works with independent Filmmakers and Artists in Palestine, Qatar and Jordan and has served as Jury member in the 25th Festival du Cinéma Méditerranéen de Tétouan in Morocco.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
