Biography

Petri Kemppinen is a seasoned expert in financing and development with nearly 30 years of experience in journalism, publishing, and the audiovisual sector. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor at the Finnish Impact Film Fund and operates his own consulting firm, P1 Kemppinen. Previously, he served as CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond and held roles at the Finnish Film Foundation, YLE, and Helsingin Sanomat. Petri has financed over 150 films and 50 TV drama series, including Palme d’Or winner “The Square” and film festival darlings like “The Border”, “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki”, “Woman at War”, “Queen of Hearts”, “Worst Person in the World” and renowned TV dramas like Cry Wolf, Paradise, Trapped, Occupied and The Thin Blue Line. He has been a Finnish member of Eurimages’ Board of Management and board memberships at the Swedish Film Institute. He is also a member of the European Film Academy and the European Women´s Audiovisual Network.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
