Diana Păroiu is a Romanian film and series producer, owner of the production company Visual Walkabout. Since entering the movie business in 2014, Diana has produced several films, ranging from fiction and documentary to hybrid, including: Sebastian Mihăilescu’s MAMMALIA (Berlinale Forum 2023), Vlad Petri’s THE SAME DREAM (Special Jury Mention at Sarajevo IFF 2021), Mona Nicoară & Dana Bunescu’s THE DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND ME (Romanian Gopo for Best Documentary 2020). Until 2021, Diana was a partner in microFILM. Since 2021, she develops original content with her company Visual Walkabout. At present, Visual Walkabout develops a slate of features, documentaries and series powered by authors who work internationally, namely: Romanian Berlin-based playwright and screenwriter Peca Ștefan, Romanian writer-director Paul Cioran, Romanian writer Adina Sădeanu, American Paris-based writer-director Christopher Manning, Sri Lankan filmmaker Vimukthi Jayasundara and Serbian director Milos Skundric. As service producer, Diana has handled the Romanian part of shoots for filmmakers close to her heart. Her Visual Walkabouts include: Davy Chou’s feature RETURN TO SEOUL (produced by Aurora Films France, premiered in Cannes Un Certain Regard in 2022, Oscars-shortlisted in 2023) and Thomas Vinterberg’s upcoming TV miniseries FAMILIES LIKE OURS (produced by Zentropa Denmark). Since 2016, Diana Păroiu has been Honorary Vice President of the One World Romania Association, NGO in charge of the One World Romania International Documentary & Human Rights Festival. Diana is an alumna of EAVE, EFP’s Cannes Producers on the Move, Torino Series Lab, Rotterdam Producers Lab. She studied at the universities of Westminster and St Andrews.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
