Biography

Diana Păroiu is a Romanian film and series producer, owner of the production company Visual Walkabout. She has produced several films, including Sebastian Mihăilescu’s MAMMALIA (Berlinale Forum 2023) and Mona Nicoară & Dana Bunescu’s THE DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND ME (Romanian Gopo for Best Documentary 2020). At Visual Walkabout, Diana nurtures high-end TV series and bold features by Romanian authors, as well as projects created by top talent from around the world. Through her production outfit, she has handled the Romanian part of shoots for Davy Chou’s Oscar-shortlisted feature RETURN TO SEOUL (Cannes Un Certain Regard 2022) and for Oscar-winning director Thomas Vinterberg’s series FAMILIES LIKE OURS (Venice World Premiere 2024). Since 2025, Diana also collaborates with PRO TV, Romania’s largest private broadcaster, and its VoD platform VOYO. As Associate Producer, she creatively oversees several VOYO in-house original series, handling the creative development process until the shooting stage. Diana evaluates and selects projects and does mentoring work for funds, festivals and markets, having worked with Torino SeriesLab, Les Arcs Copro Village, Creative Europe MEDIA, among others. Diana is an alumna of EAVE, EFP’s Cannes Producers on the Move, Torino SeriesLab, Rotterdam Producers Lab. She studied at the universities of Westminster and St Andrews.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
