Biography

Matija is a writer/producer working in his own Zagreb based production company Aning Film. Actively making films since 2008 Matija is a versatile creative producer with a portfolio of projects that range from short’s to feature films, in a fiction, documentary and experimental form. Coming from a 12-year stage acting young hood, Matija’s projects reflect his struggle to not only deal with his own challenges, but to find a system that will solve such a problem on a global scale. Telling stories using film as a tool is the first, but still just one of the options that are in his arsenal on a daily basis while he, as he’d say himself, changes the world, or at least really tries to. A portfolio of projects alongside films include professional training programs, filmmaking workshops for children, crowd funding campaigns, distribution platforms, events and internet based storytelling experiments. Matija often mentors motivated filmmakers and is always looking for a new energy that will face him with a new challenge. He is currently working on a number of European co-productions as well as his own independent productions and commercial projects. updated 9/2013

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
