Leonardo Mecchi

Biography

Leonardo Mecchi is a Brazilian film producer and the managing partner at Enquadramento Produções. Through his production company, he develops and produces both documentaries and feature films, primarily supporting young and emerging filmmakers through international co-productions. He has a strong commitment to supporting female filmmakers and to championing stories shaped by diverse perspectives across gender, race, class, and identity. Enquadramento, based in São Paulo, has partnered with companies from France, Germany, Portugal, Colombia, the U.S., and Norway to produce titles such as Los Silencios, The Fever, The Intrusion, and Canuto's Transformation. His films have been showcased at prestigious international festivals, including Cannes, Berlinale, Locarno, Rotterdam, Toronto, San Sebastián, and IDFA. He serves as a juror, selection committee member, and consultant for several festivals and film funds. He also conducts workshops and seminars on film production and is an alumnus of EAVE, Berlinale Talents, TorinoFilmLab, and the Sundance Institute.
