Biography

Evelin Penttilä is an Estonian film producer who began her career in 2011, producing short films and commercials along with assisting experienced producers in Estonia, Finland, Germany, and the UK. Her first feature film, ZERO POINT by Mihkel Ulk, was awarded Debut of the Year by the Estonian Cultural Endowment and was the first Baltic film sold to Netflix. Evelin's filmography includes over 10 feature films, including THE SLEEPING BEAST (2022) by J.Kilmi, MARIA'S PARADISE (2019) by Z.Bergroth, HELENE (2020) by A.Jokinen, THE MISSILE (2024) by Miia Tervo, and numerous shorts including BAD HAIR (2019) by O.Lehemaa and THE WEIGHT OF LIGHT (2024) by A.Hints and SAUNADAY (2024) by A.Hints & T.Prakash, that was selected for a special screening at Cannes Filmfestival 2024 in La Semaine de la Critique special programme. In 2015, she founded Stellar Film, which they are currently running side by side with Johanna M. Paulson, aiming to create films that are encouraging and inspiring. Evelin is a member of the European Film Academy, ACE Producers, EAVE National Coordinator for Estonia and was selected as Producer on the Move 2022.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
