Position Producer
Company Ici et Là Productions
Christophe Bruncher started his career as a producer in 2005, working with actress-director Isild Le Besco as partner to Paris-based production company Sangsho, which he managed up until 2007. He thus took his first steps into feature film production with L’INTOUCHABLE by Benoit Jacquot (premiering at Venice Film Festival in 2006) and CHARLY, the second film by Isild Le Besco, released in France in 2007. Christophe is also one of the founding members of Les Films de la Butte, a production company where he developed and produced ET SI ON VIVAIT TOUS ENSEMBLE? by Stéphane Robelin. He managed to bring together an exceptional cast, most notably convincing Jane Fonda to return to French cinema after 40 years of absence. The film made its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival (Piazza Grande). It was released in cinema over 30 countries, where it met both critical and public acclaim. It achieved over 530,000 admissions in France, over 400,000 in Germany, 100,000 in Brazil and over one million dollars in VOD revenue in the United States, where it was one of the most watched French films in 2012. Christophe studied at the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique in Marseilles and lived in China for 3 years before joining prestigious Paris film school la fémis, (international co-production programme Atelier Paris-Ludwigsburg). In 2004, he directed a series of short portraits of 6th generation Chinese directors for Arte’s TV cultural journal. The following year, he was the curator for the cinema section of Dashanzi International Art Festival in Peking. He invited French talents and established a strong relationship with them, which lead to professional collaborations, most notably with Isild Le Besco, Stéphane Robelin, Gustave Kervern and David Lanzmann. Since 2007, Christophe has given regular talks on production for various organisations, such as La fémis Film School, the Festival de Cannes Film Market and EAVE, where he established the Asian program TTB (Ties That Bind). He is responsible for the participants’ selection and content of the programme, which meets annually in Europe and Asia. Ties That Bind brings together a selection of European and Asian producers to develop their film projects with the support of consultants and experts (script-writing, legal, financial, marketing, etc.). It aims to develop co-productions and build bridges between professionals from these two regions. A French native speaker, Christophe is also fluent in English, German and Mandarin.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
