Biography

Bernard is a Luxembourgish film producer best known for the critically acclaimed film Collective by Alexander Nanau, which was nominated for the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature and Best International Feature at the the 93th Academy Awards. He produced many local and international award-winning feature films and worked with directors like Sameh Zoabi, Marie Kreutzer, Jeff Desom or Laura Schroeder. Bernard studied film production at the University of Television and Film Munich and subsequently founded in 2006 Lucil Film, that merged in 2015 with Samsa Film. He won the Cinema Eye Honors Award for Outstanding Achievement and was nominated for the Independent Spirit Awards. Bernard is an EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs) and ACE (Ateliers du Cinéma Européen) graduate and a member of the European Film Academy. Since 2012 he is also running two successful bars in Luxembourg city.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
