Biography

After graduating in distribution/cinema management from LA FEMIS, Alya worked in the marketing department for international sales at Wild Bunch (now Goodfellas) for 17 years before joining MK2 Films as Head of Marketing to handle, notably, the Oscar campaign for ANATOMY OF A FALL. She is now Head of Marketing & Publicity at Pathé, a Paris-based company over 100 years old that produces, distributes films, and owns the largest chain of theaters in France. Working on various movies from all around the world, in different stages of development, Alya built the first communication and marketing tools to launch the sales of recent films like LEAVE ONE DAY by Amelie Bonin (Opening Film Cannes Film Festival), SAINT OMER by Alice Diop, TITANE by Julia Ducournau, NITRAM by Justin Kurzel, and CAPHARNAÜM by Nadine Labaki. During festivals, Alya collaborates with the PR department to build communication strategies and tools for film publicity, organizing parties, dinners, private presentations for buyers, etc. All year long, she works closely with distributors from around the world, ranging from major US studios to independents. She monitors their release strategies, approves P&A and local marketing campaigns, analyzes figures, and schedules promotional tours with talents. Alya has also been involved in Goodfellas' production activities, with BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR (aka LA VIE D'ADÈLE). She is also a contributor at ESRA (École supérieure de réalisation audiovisuelle) and Paris 8 University Vincennes - Saint Denis.
