Biography

Christine has always been inspired to produce work from directors who were not naturally supported by the establishment and is fascinated by stories from non mainstream perspectives. Some highlights :- NASTY NEIGHBOURS, a black comedy written and directed by Debbie Isitt (Confetti/Nativity) premiered in Venice 1999. IRINA PALM directed by Sam Garbarski and starring Marianne Faithfull, was selected ‘in Competition’ at the prestigious 57th Berlin Film Festival 2007, winning Screen International’s Critics Jury Award as well as many other awards, it was the fifth highest grossing European film in 2008. SOULBOY starring Martin Compston and Felicity Jones, multi award winning story of Northern Soul set at the Wigan Casino. VALHALLA RISING from director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive) premiered in Toronto starring Mads Mikklesen (Casino Royale) in this Viking Epic. COMES A BRIGHT DAY starring Timothy Spall, Imogen Poots and Kevin McKidd. Début feature of Simon Aboud première Berlin Generations + 2011. Nominated for the Camera D’or and Officially Selected in Un Certain Regard Cannes 2014 the debut feature of Andrew Hulme, SNOW IN PARADISE. International by The Match Factory. UK, Artificial Eye the film is currently playing in festivals around the world. Christine Alderson is a graduate of EAVE, EAVE +, ACE and INSIDE PICTURES and is also a voting member of BAFTA and EFA.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
