Biography

Pinball Films Ltd were founded in 1999, with a plan to work with maverick outsider filmmakers attempting to push the form of cinema forward by taking risks and crossing boundaries. This has created a wide network of festivals, distributors and audiences excited by what Pinball do, who look forward to their next move. Lead Producer, Ashley Horner is a member of the prestigious ACE producer’s network. Pinball Films have developed and creatively produced four feature films and twenty short films for the UK Film Council. Their feature film BRILLIANTLOVE screened at Tribeca Film Festival in 2010 and was released internationally by IFC, SODA PICTURES & THE SUNDANCE CHANNEL in 2010 and was nominated for a British Independent Film Award in 2011. In 2007 Pinball produced their first feature THE OTHER POSSIBILITY, a rock and roll cancer film, shot in Newcastle and Berlin, starring Nora von Waldstätten (CARLOS) and the spirit of Lester Bangs. It was sold internationally by Centre Media. Pinball are working with director Martin Radich (CRACK WILLOW 2008, NORFOLK 2014) on his fourth feature DANDELION and co-produced his second feature film THE CONUNDRUM, Sean Conway on YOUNG GODS that was presented at Les Arcs, Johnny Kevorkian’s Nordic supernatural horror HIDDEN FOLK and Rona Marks’ KILL THE DONALD, after co-producing her last feature OBJECTS ATTACK! In 2013 Ashley moved into documentary and is currently in preproduction on the BBC STORYVILLE backed THE HIPPIES: PUNK ROCKED MY CRADLE by Matt Hulse, which was presented at CPH FORUM in 2013. He was a World View Future Producer School graduate at Sheff Doc Fest in 2014. 2014 has seen Ashley branching out into subscription based distribution with the founding of JUKEBOX KINO (www.jukeboxkino.co.uk), which operates like an old school 45rpm singles-only club. Their first release is DUMMY JIM by Matt Hulse.
