Biography

Christopher Zitterbart was born in 1977 in Göttingen, Germany. He is co-founder of watchmen productions and producer with an international track record of over 20 years in production and shooting experience in more than 20 countries. His first feature film as co-producer was Berlinale competition entry PRAIA DO FUTURO by director Karim Ainouz in 2014. His second feature film THE SURFACE OF THINGS by Nancy Biniadaki premiered in competition at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in 2017 and won the newcomer director award at Athens Film Festival 2017. Currently he is developing a slate of projects, among them Karim Aïnouz\' creative documentary ALGERIAN BY ACCIDENT and his upcoming feature MOON as well as Nancy Biniadaki\'s feature film MAYSOON. The feature documentary NARDES A. will premiere in Berlinale Panorama 2020. Zitterbart was also co-founder of the family entertainment company Wolkenlenker. Under this umbrella, Christopher has produced many children’s short films that have been screened and awarded at festivals around the world. In 2017, he received the prestigious German TV award, the ‘Grimme Preis’. As commercial director, Christopher has created films for brands including Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and ZDF. Christopher’s film education includes a degree as creative producer at Filmhaus Babelsberg, as well as international scriptwriting and financing seminars such as MFI script to film or EAVE film financing forum. He’s alumni of the Entertainment Master Class. He lives with his wife and son in Berlin.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
