BIOGRAPHY Mr. Chidi Nuel Nwokeabia 17 Modupe Johnson Crescent off Adeniran Ogunsanya street, Surelere, Lagos. Telephone-234-8023424770, 234-8186991819 email-ymd220@yahoo.com. chidinwokeabia@gmail.com. - Chidi Nuel Nwokeabia, a Nigerian filmmaker, is a native of Achi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. - Studied Accountancy in the University Of Nigeria Nsukka and also has a post graduate degree in Human Resources Management. - CEO/Managing Director of Macnuel Productions Limited, a television content-providing company based in Lagos, Nigeria. - A film practitioner since 1993. Featured in one of the first Nollywood movies, UNFORGIVEN SIN. - Featured in several other movies, DEADLY AFFAIRS, BETRAYAL, RATTLE SNAKE and a couple of others. - Mr. Nwokeabia set up a film production company called MACNUEL PRODUCTIONS IN 2002. - He has produced several award wining flicks among which are: - THE LAW STUDENTS- shot in 2003 but was released in 2005. The LAW STUDENTS it became one of highest selling films of the year 2005/06. - THE LAST GIRL STANDING, a rape story shot in 2004, premiered in Nigeria and Italy by the Nigerian Films and Videos Censors Board. - In 2006, he produced the award winning soap opera “THE PATRIOTS” [2010 winner of THE BEST SOAP OPERA ON NIGERIAN TV], which highlights the harmful effects of fake and adulterated drugs and food products in Nigeria. - In 2007, his story/script, CHAMPIONS OF OUR TIME, a story on the physically challenged members of the Nigerian society, won the 3rd position at the INTERMEDIA INTERNATIONAL SCRIPTWRITING COMPETITION. - In 2009 Mr. Nwokeabia produced the award winning story CHAMPIONS OF OUR TIME. It was directed by Mr. Mak Kusare and Charles Inojie. - Between 2010 and 2012, CHAMPIONS OF OUR TIME has won 10 local and international film awards and uncountable selections. Below are some of the awards: -At the Fespaco Film Festival, the biggest and oldest film festival in Africa held in Burkina Faso in 2011, ‘Champions Of Our Time’ won THE ECOWAS PRIZE FOR INTERGRATION FOR THE BEST WEST AFRICAN FILM, 2011. -THE SPECIAL JURY PRIZE AWARD at the Fespaco Film Festival, 2011. -At the HOMEVIDEO INTEGRITY AWARDS, 2011, CHAMPIONS OF OUR TIME won the N1million prize in THE CHILD FRIENDLY CATEGORY. -It won the Golden Mboni Award for the best children’s film, LOLA KENYA SCREEN AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA FESTIVAL , 2010. -It won The Best Actress Award, ZUMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, 2010. -It won The Best Picture Award ZUMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, 2010. -It won The Best Film Award ZAFAA FILM FESTIVAL LONDON, 2010. -It won The Best film Award, ABUJA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, 2010. -It won The Best Actress Award, TERRACOTTA FILM AND TELEVISION AWARDS FOR 2010. -It won The Best Supporting Actress Award, TERRACOTTA FILM AND TELEVISION AWARDS 2010. -Between 2010 and 2011, CHAMPIONS OF OUR TIME has also been selected and screened - in more than 12 film festivals across the world. - In 2010/2011, Mr. Nwokeabia produced 78 episodes of “SCHOOL”, a new soap opera classified by AFRICAMAGIC as one of the best TV soap opera in 201 - Produced OMONO a feature film with support from National Council For Arts And Culture Abuja Nigeria, in 2012. THIS PLUS THAT was also written by Chidi Nwokeabia in 2012. - Produced TORN GARMENT, a story on HIV AIDS with support from the National Council For Arts And Culture Abuja, Nigeria.
