press release

Producers nowadays are confronted with a distribution model in transition. Although new release patterns like VOD, DAY-AND-DATE and EVENT-CINEMA should be opportunities, the lack of flexibility in the classic model and the absolute protection of the theatrical window as the temple of cinema, are blocking innovation and access to young audiences. Films for teenagers and young adults (particularly male skew) are not finding their audiences in the theatrical window. Producers have a hard time choosing other models to reach them since the financing and distribution system is not adapted to the new models. This increases the gap between young audiences and indie cinema.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
