LAST DAYS TO APPLY! Shoot the book! Co-production meetings at the Cannes Film Festival

press release

Dear EAVE producers,

You are invited to attend the Shoot the book! Day, organized by the Institut français and the SCELF (Civil Society of French Language Publishers), on Monday May 14th, from 10 am to 13 pm during the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

Playing on the passionate romance between cinema and literature, Shoot the Book! takes an original approach to the relationship between the two industries.

The event is designed to be a unique opportunity for publishing-industry professionals to affirm the cinematographic potential of the works that they are defending. This will be a valuable opportunity for you to meet rights directors from French publishing houses in order to talk about co-production projects that are already supported by French producers:

* Tropic of violence (Tropique de la violence) based on the eponymous novel by Nathacha Appanah (Gallimard - Frédérique Massart)

* She-wolf (La Louve) based on the eponymous novel by Paul-Henry Bizon (Gallimard - Frédérique Massart)

* The Smuggler (Le passeur) adapted from a cartoon written in 2016 by Yves H – scenario and Hermann - drawings (Dupuis - Laurent Duvault)

* Pablo adapted from the eponymous graphic novel series created by Ouberie, Birmant and Jul (Dargaud – Laurent Duvault)

This meeting will be followed by a working lunch.

Please contact the EAVE team for detailed information regarding each project.

If you are interested in attending it, please contact by April 13th at the very latest, and send a short motivation statement, CV and company profile.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
